2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Poured from bottle into a tulip glass, deep brown color with very little head. Taste is toasted malt, coffee, with a little bit of tartness. Almost no pumpkin flavor in this beer, was fairly disappointed by this. Tastes like a basic porter, not bad, but needs more pumpkin or spice flavor to make it stand out.

1.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Pours a deep dark brown, almost black, with a brown foamy head. Nice and thick. Not much of an aroma. Taste is watery. A little toasty. Not very spicy or pumpkins. A little bit of a miss. Disappointing.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle at Zoo Brew. Pours a dark brown with a white head that dissipates to the edges quickly. Aroma has chalky roasted malts with some dark grains and just a hint of pumpkin and spice. Flavor has roasted malts with a bit of dark grain and a hint of spice in the finish.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz. bottle, part of a very reasonably priced 12 pack. $11.99 @ Shaw’s Supermarket. Pours dark mahogany brown, which is to say, dark brown with reddish highlights, with a one finger beige head. Mild cinnamon and nutmeg aroma with a pumpkin undertone. Nice semi sweet flavor with a roasted malt porter base with pumpkin and spice layers on top. Medium in body, could have been a touch heavier. Spices linger in the mouth. Pretty good.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Better than what I expected. Nice aroma and the pumpkin flavor fit itself well with the porter.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 ounce bottle, bottled on July 3, 2014. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch and a half light tan head. Head retention is excellent, and there’s also a lot of lacing. The brew smells like roasted malt, pumpkin spices (nutmeg, cinnamon), coffee and a bit of chocolate. I think the taste is pretty much just like the aroma, but there’s also some burnt/charred malt and ginger in there. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it’s a bit slick with a moderate amount of carbonation. It’s also smooth and easy to drink. I thought this was a good brew, and a pretty good deal for the price at $7.49 a 6-pack. At that price, why not try it? I know I won’t have any problems finishing this 6 pack!

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours dark brown / reddish with a tan head. The aroma has roasty malt, pumpkin, clove, nutmeg and crustiness - comes across as roasty pumpkin pie. It has a medium body with lots of semi-sharp carbonation. The flavor starts with smooth toastiness (doesn’t taste roasty), black pepper, phenolic spice, cloves and crackers The finish is crackery and shows more roast and has slight bits of pumpkin. Nice porter with slight pumpkin enhancements.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle: The aroma consists of moderate ginger, lighter cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, chocolate, and a touch of roasted malt...maybe roasted pumpkin...or maybe power of suggestion. It pours a dark brown with no transparency and a two finger tan head that has decent retention before fading to a thin film outlined by a thicker ring. There is a good amount of thin webbing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with a quick dose of chocolate. The finish light ginger, clove, nutmeg, roasted malt, and a touch of coffee. It’s medium bodied with light-moderate carbonation. Overall, the aroma makes me think pumpkin Porter. The flavor makes me think more of a winter spiced porter.
