Redhook Pilsner is brewed in a traditional Czech style and is the first pilsner Redhook Ale Brewery has ever released. Red Hook Pilsner offers a very soft palate and malt flavors that are offset by a medium dose of distinct Czech hops to bring out its authentic flavors. The refreshing beer finishes with a clean, bright, thirst-quenching quality. Red Hook Pilsner pairs nicely with barbecued chicken, bratwurst, spicy food, fresh fish, and green salad. Gold pour with a nice white head. Aroma has some dried lemon peel, stale caramel malt and maybe a hint of hops. Flavor has a lemon/sour orange note that I enjoyed. Lightly yeasty, lightly hoppy.

12 ounce bottle from Whole Foods Market, Charlottesville, opened 6/8/10. Pours a crystal clear golden color with a large frothy head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of grassy hops and caramel. The taste is caramel, green apple, some toasty notes and a faintly grassy finish. Medium bodied.

Pale straw colour with a tight white head. The aroma is fairly clean and slightly crackery with a touch of soft zesty hoppiness. Clean and fresh although it could always be hoppier. A little bit of light straw malt flavour. Simple if decent.

Pale gold pour with nose of noble hops, grainy pale malt. Tastes pale malty, hoppy, citric, not as tart as Ii exoect for a BOpils, but smooth and not at all offensive.

Bottled on 04.05.10.. Pours a clear gold with minimal head. Aroma is bready grain, grassy, lightly peppery. Lightly metallic. Fruity taste at first, clean grain, fruity hops. A bit grassy. Pretty decent little pils actually. Light, crisp and fizzy.

Bottle. Yellow pour with a white head. Aroma and taste are very muted malt and citrus, with a bit of funkiness. Just okay.
