Redhook Pilsner is brewed in a traditional Czech style and is the first pilsner Redhook Ale Brewery has ever released. Red Hook Pilsner offers a very soft palate and malt flavors that are offset by a medium dose of distinct Czech hops to bring out its authentic flavors. The refreshing beer finishes with a clean, bright, thirst-quenching quality. Red Hook Pilsner pairs nicely with barbecued chicken, bratwurst, spicy food, fresh fish, and green salad. Appearance bright golden look with medium foamy top (short lived).3-
Flavor and Palate : Green apple, lacking body. Mineral feel at mid. Some malty sweetness behind. Felt macro like. Finishing hints of cardboard. Disappointing.

Bottle:   Fiery straw, clear, thin to moderate sudsy white head, sparce lacing, light carbonation.   Grassy nose, a little straw/hay.   Has a mealy quality to it, but unlike the Sunburn by Widmer it has a bit more flavor that lasts a little longer.   Still the same old grassy/straw/hay aspect.   Smidgen more sweetness, but not much.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Finishes with a mealiness that I just dont care for.   I miss their old Blonde, well compared to this at least.   Curious how the new Blonde works out.   This one seems a little too flat and uninteresting overall.

11/8/11. 12oz bottle. Super clear somewhat dark golden pour with a small, fluffy off-white head that cuts fast and barely laces. Very plain, light aroma, with barely anything... perhaps a touch of apples and dusty graininess. Sweet, malty entry at first but it fades to slightly tart and fruity followed by bitter graininess that reminds me slightly of cracker and popcorn. Meh.
