COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Redhook Pilsner is brewed in a traditional Czech style and is the first pilsner Redhook Ale Brewery has ever released. Red Hook Pilsner offers a very soft palate and malt flavors that are offset by a medium dose of distinct Czech hops to bring out its authentic flavors. The refreshing beer finishes with a clean, bright, thirst-quenching quality. Red Hook Pilsner pairs nicely with barbecued chicken, bratwurst, spicy food, fresh fish, and green salad. Draft. Clear golden pour with a medium white head. Mild aroma of grass and grain. Flavor is watery with grassy and bready notes along with grain, biscuit, and mild hops. Light, fizzy mouthfeel and not a lot of flavor.

Pours clear golden yellow into a shaker. Sickly white head recedes to hug rim. Winey hay aromas. Crisp sweet caramel upfront turning flat before a dry, bitter lasting finish.

12 oz. bottle pours clear goldenrod yellow with fuzzy head which leaves healthy lacing. Appearance of high carbonation as it sits. Aroma of grass and oats with lemon oil. Palate is simple with sweet malt and blossoms followed by mild hoppiness. Mediocre offering from Redhook, but easy to drink and could be a nice, easy segue to micros. Easy to down a few with early summer grill fare.

Not a bad beer .. no fresh Pilsner Urquell but better than the PU that is too old/light struck in the green bottles. Unoffensive American style lager.

On tap at BJs in Lewisville. The look is clear, golden straw colored, and small white head. The smell is corn, malts, grains, and slight florals. The taste is smooth, clean, some grains, and ok.

Red Hook Rope Swing is a very lively, semi-clear light golden beer with a thin, dense white head that fades to a film and leaves excellent lacing on the glass. It has a grainy aroma with a little lemon. It smells like a Pilsner. It’s quite light bodied and smooth with a very crisp finish. It has a good amount of Pilsner malt taste. There’s something melanoidal that reminds me of a doppelbock and seems a little out of place. I can taste a little lemon and there’s not really any bitterness. It seems like a watered down dopplebock. It wasn’t really a good choice for a lawn-mowing beer.

Harris Teeter, DC sixer ($7): Pours a golden colour with a small head. Aroma is mostly sugary bready. Taste is way far on the sweet side of pilseners. Not enough hoppiness is in this one. Basically, this was just one disappointing step above a macro pale lager.
