COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Introducing Redhook Sunrye, a light, refreshing summer beer brewed with six barley malts, including a touch of organic rye. The opalescent golden color of Sunrye is a result of its unfiltered nature. Light and crisp, this brew was made for slaking summer thirsts.

From a bottle. Pours a very clear golden color. Aroma of staw and bready characters. Taste is very bland. Mostly straw flavor...this brew is not much different than a light lager. vey bland.

Bottle poured a clear gold with a minimal lingering ring of white foam. Aromas of carmel, spice and straw. Palate was light to medium bodied and crisp. Flavors of straw, light spice and light carmel with a crisp lingering spice finish.

slightly cloudy golden color with small white head. like the redhook blonde ale nothing stands out in the aroma or the flavor but this one was slightly better to me. not bad but also nothing memorable.

Draft at the Woodinville brewpub. Crystal clear medium gold with scant off-white head. Not much nose: sweaty, maybe. Light body. Almost watery. Almost corny mid-palate; just a hint of rye sourness, but only enough to let you know that there’s a flavor here that you wouldn’t ordinarily expect, so...it kinda seems like an off note. Not much finish. Company says it "tastes like watered down grain alcohol. The aftertaste is like rubbing alcohol."

Bottle. Had a good bit of this beer a few months back. It is probably one of my favorite summer seasonals. Clean golden in color with a big white head. A bit yeasty in the aroma with a light floral note. On drinking, you can tell there is a lot of malt to it, but not overly sweet. There is also just a touch of rye in the background. Very good refreshing summer beer.

THOUGHTS: I was a little bored with everyones summer wheat offerings so I figured I’d try a summer rye beer. It wasn’t bad but it was nothing special. I think some more rye would have made a more interesting beer. Sure, it was easy to drink, but so is water. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a clear, medium yellow with an average sudsy, white head that fully diminished and left virtually no lacing. The aroma was moderate bread malt, light grass hops and some rye. The initial flavor was lightly sweet, while the finish was moderately sweet and lightly bitter with a short finish. The flavor was malty with a little rye. The light to medium body was slightly dry and somewhat syrupy with fizzy carbonation and a slightly metallic and lightly astringent finish.

12oz bottle-pours a dissipating white head and hazy yellow color. Aroma is some spices-clove, wheat. Taste is some spices-clove, wheat, grassy. Kind of light body. OK effervescence.

On draught at Mohegan Sun. Pours gold with a nice creamy white head. Smells of citrus, rosey, some sweet malt, some sugar, hints of wildflowers, a touch of dry wheat. Tastes sweet and malty with some peppery splashes and a touch of hoppiness. Drinkable and sessionable.
