COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Introducing Redhook Sunrye, a light, refreshing summer beer brewed with six barley malts, including a touch of organic rye. The opalescent golden color of Sunrye is a result of its unfiltered nature. Light and crisp, this brew was made for slaking summer thirsts.

Cloudy yellow body, looks like a bottle-conditioned Miller Lite. Light, bright aroma that features peach sweetness and sugar cookie malt. Unobtrusive flavor, has that sugar cookie taste with a light floral hoppiness. This beer doesn’t taste like much but I’m enjoying it!

Appearance: perfectly yellowish color, with a thin, white head. Aroma: soft, yet somehow deep, citric, a bit sour, yeasty, feeling like a hefe weizen in some ways. Taste: surprisingly complex flavor, with tingly hops, forward fruit, orange and lemon, some malt for balance, but not sticking out. Grain aspect is particularly prominent. So, I can taste the rye, but where’s the sun? Here it comes. And it’s alright. (Okay, got that joke out of my system!) "Light and refreshing" says the label, and that’s exactly what this is. Though I post this at Halloween, the notes for this review were written in 90-degree August weather, and the beer did it’s work, it was light and thirst-quenching. Crisp, tasty, unassuming, easily downable, and utterly inoffensive. Easy to toss back by the 6-pack on a sweltering day. It works. There ya go!

UPDATED: DEC 7, 2008 [12 oz. bottle] Hazy gold color with a fizzy white head. Slight aroma of lemon mixed with grass and wheat. Very light and crisp flavor of lemon grass and a slight hoppy finish. Refreshing. Definitely a good summer beer.

Pours cloudy gold with a white head that fizzled away quickly. Grassy, grainy aroma with a little lemon. Smells like a summer brew. Light flavor with lemon, grass, and hops. Not a bad taste but is similar to Fraoch Heather Ale and I didn’t like that either. Very light palate and would probably be refreshing for people who like this style.

Very surprised to see the ratings on this one. Definitely wouldn’t call this beer awesome, but on a hot summer day (or when eating some hot cajun food) this brew comes in handy with it’s refreshing rye taste and smooth palate.

Pours a cloudy yellow with a small white head. Some lacing. Aroma is citrus, hop, and a hint of rye. Taste is bitter, a little tart like citrus. Palate is metallic, crisp, and dry.

Pours a cloudy yellow. No real aroma on this brew. Flavor is malty/wheaty but nothing stands out. A good summer i guess but im not a fan of summer’s.

Bottle, Good nose, rye and skunky, not a bad skunk though. Pale yellow color, white head. Lite citrus flavors, lemon . Thin body crisp bitter finish. Eh?
