COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Introducing Redhook Sunrye, a light, refreshing summer beer brewed with six barley malts, including a touch of organic rye. The opalescent golden color of Sunrye is a result of its unfiltered nature. Light and crisp, this brew was made for slaking summer thirsts.

Bottled. A yellowish color with a very malty aroma. Flavor was crisp and almost wheat-like with a very bready finish. I bought this for a party and it went over well - not bad for consuming in large quantities. I’d drink it again.

On tap at Croxley’s Ales. Poured yellow/gold with a somewhat wheat aroma. Taste was very light, some lemon and a little wheat and what I guess is the rye. Overall, it’s a light decent beerwith not much else going on.

As an ale, it’s probably below average. But as a summer beer, I would say it’s decent. It’s a mild, drinkable brew that doesn’t overpower and finishes well.

Pours a light white wineish color with a nice white head. Kinda bready and straw aroma. Taste is very light and thin, not much there, unimpressive.

UPDATED: JUN 24, 2004 Pours a deep gold color, head quickly fades. Rather full flavor for it’s style. I find that it goes well with bar- b-que.

A cloudy pale light golden yellow with lots of floaties and a medium very quickly diminishing white yead. Faint aroma of honey, light bread, pepper, clove and straw - maybe some corn too. Light watery body with lively carbonation. Flavor of bread and honey with a hint of spice. The label says "light and refreshing". It is light. It is refreshing. It isn’t very good. Better than macro swill.

Pours a cloudy gold color, no head to speak of. Aroma is faint, wheaty. Tastes like a weak, watery hefeweizen to me, malty and lightly tasting of wheat. Not my favorite Redhook by far.

UPDATED: JUN 1, 2004 This is a fine summer quencher; in no way bitter or heavy it is light tasting malty beer with a dry clean finish. Perfectly suitable for drinking in quantity and miles beyond any American macro lager. This will be my summer beer of choice until something better comes along. Very refreshing.
