texasbartender (151), Sugarland, Texas, USA Jun 15, 2008 The beer pours a light bright yellow hay color with a thin white head that doesn’t stay long. The nose is a light with a little note of grass. The taste is simple and strait forward like water, which is ironically the mouth feel I get. The finish is slightly metallic. I guess if I had to chose between this and a bud lite I would choose this but only with a gun to my head.

Light but drinkable, a decent patio beer. wmubronco1992 (107), Coldwater, Michigan, USA Aug 31, 2008 Bottle - Golden color. Small white head that didn’t last long. No lacing. No noticable aroma. Description says this is unfiltered. Never would have guessed that by drinking it. No sign of rye to me. Not bad, but certainly not good. Agree that this is a beer best enjoyed while hanging with the neighbors in the driveway. HyreOne (9), York, South Carolina, USA does not count Aug 29, 2008 light color with not much head. Smells of malt with adjunct (thought of corn first, but it’s made with rye...) Hops taste with little bitterness. Light mouthfeel, malt taste, and alcohol and warming afterwards. Slightly sweet then drying. blipp (724), Grand Island, New York, USA Aug 21, 2008 Bottle. Pours clear gold with a white head. Aroma has a nice hop/malt balance with caramel and floral notes. Sweet malt flavor with lemon and a touch of hops. Not bad. yesyouam (351), Fairport, New York, USA Aug 17, 2008 Redhook Sunrye is a slightly hazy pale yellow ale with a thick, soft, bone white head. The head retention and lacing are excellent. There isn’t much aroma here-- possibly lemon, maybe lemon cleanser. It is quite thin, bubbly and a bit alkaline. It has a unique flavor. I’m getting fenugreek here. There are notes of rye and lemon. It’s lawnmower beer.
