22oz. bomber í09 release. Pours completely flat, a hazy dark amber color. Nose is honey/caramel sweet. Flavor improved with warmth, but was still overly fruity and sweet, lacking a solid hop structure. The alcohol (10.1% listed on this bottle) is pretty well hidden by the stuff that is there. That stuff, however, is a little off-kilter. Iím not sure this will age well, but it might be worth a try.

22 oz. bottle shared by Tmoney99 (from notes). Pours a clear dark amber color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor had caramel, toffee, herbal and mildly spicy hops, some ripe fruit character and a hint of chocolate. At times comes off a bit harsh.

Bottle from Bev Mo: Created a thick cushioning of foamed head where as the liquid was a dark honey like color. My nose detects floral scented hops, raisin or figs, and a thick base of caramel styled malts. The flavor comes across bland and quite boring which makes it harder to describe the flavor other than the fact that there is a minor tasting of sweetened caramel. There is some resin left behind along the base of the mouth and lips that does have similarities to figs and dates, but this falls short of being a solid barley wine. The only thing I liked about this beer was the high alcohol content and thatís about it.

This bottled brew from rbsg #18 poured a large sized head foamy with a frothy top of fine to large sized bubbles that left behind a transparent copper brown colored body. The mild aroma was hoppy floral malty and vinous. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start mediumly tingly at the finish. The nice flavor contained notes like a typical barley wine with banana hops and malt. Delicious and one I would certainly like to have again.

Poured a clear, red amber color with a small, off white head that left no lacing on the glass. Aroma of floral hops, pine, and caramel malts. Taste of citrus fruits, cherry candy, caramel, with a bit of a tinny, alcoholic finish.

Pours clear amber with a thin white head. Aroma has nice candied fruit and light caramel. Flavor has candied fruit and decent hop notes...bitter...almost a bit of oak and leather. Mouthfeel is full and smooth with a nice dry biteer/candied fruit finish.

Bomber of 2010. Pours a hazy brownish orange with a small white head. Aroma is fruit, malt, and yeast. Taste is sweet and fruity with an alcohol warmth.

Strong, fruity aroma has notes of sweet apple and banana and a malty undertone plus a touch of yeast. It pours a clear, dark copper, almost mahogany, with a fluffy and rather persistent beige head that leaves a fair amount of lacing. Fruity flavor is rather brandy-like, what I expect from a good barleywine, with a fair alcohol bite and a woody undertone. It is a bit sweet, and the flavor lacks depth; still, it is pleasing. Texture has above-average body but only average fizz, and leaves a fruity and woody finish. Iíve had better, but this is acceptable.

Like many other recent raters, drinking from a Fall 2009 22oz bottle. $1.99, yo. Pours a hazy bright amber. White head that settles into a thin film. Nose of sweet caramel malts, vanilla, candy, syrup, and some cardboard. Taste is a pleasant mix of bitter and sweet. Easy to drink for 10%.
