3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 mcox90 (1044) - Wilton, New Hampshire, USA - OCT 31, 2009
22 oz. Pours a pretty golden amber color with a 1/2" white head. No lace left behind. Aroma is bread, yeast and sugar. Moderate in body with healthy carbonation. Prickly on the tongue. Flavor is bread, orange peel, apple with a sweet background. Alcohol is present, but not annoying. Fairly decent effort.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 bitbucket (2072) - Kirkland, Washington, USA - OCT 29, 2009
Pours cloudy orange amber, headless. Full body, minimal carbonation. Some spice, but lots of orange peel. Seems too sweet.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 VTHopHead (1340) - Barre, Vermont, USA - OCT 25, 2009
Bomber - Poured a slightly hazy golden amber in color with a small white head that quickly faded to almost nothing. Aroma is malty and quite sweet with plenty of bready yeastiness and some fruity esters (grape, green apple?). Flavor is malty and quite sweet. Plenty of yeast. Alcohol is apparent in the flavor (some harshness) and presence felt in the "burn" as it goes down. The harsh flavor detracts from the overall experience. This is an OK tripel and I enjoyed it, but it could use some work.
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 SuIIy (1828) - Natick, Massachusetts, USA - OCT 23, 2009
Bottle. Pours a redish color with minimal white head, body then fades to a golden orange color. Nose is a sweet syrupy malt note with some light banana and a miniscule hint of clove and vanilla. a light sweetness. Palate is syrupy with a cloying feel and a bitter, stingy finish. Leaves a light alcohol and film note on the throat. Flavors of light syrupy caramel malt with hints of cherrys and vanilla and some banana and a light bit of coriander.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 travita (2535) - Frisco, Texas, USA - OCT 21, 2009
Copper colored, clear, and has a low off white head. The smell is very sugary, yeast, and fruits. The taste is too sweet, lots of residual sugar, spiced, and yeast.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 CaptainCougar (6748) - Boz Scaggsville, Maryland, USA - OCT 13, 2009
Pours a transparent deep orange copper with a thin ring of white head. Has a sweet sugary caramel malty nose with a hint of strawberries and alcoholic warmth. Starts with a good malty fullness and a biscuity sugary toffee flavor before a slightly yeasty and warming finish. Could be closer to style and more complex.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 obxdude10 (1811) - Pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 13, 2009
This tripel is pretty average. There isn’t anything really outstanding about it. Nothing to seperate it from any other medicore beer. There’s really nothing to write home about with this offering. It pours a dark golden color with a minmal white head. There was absoutely no lacing left around the glass. The nose is fruity and floral with a hint of grass, bread, clove and slight hops. The body is a little overly-carbonated. It was just a little too spritzy. The flavors were plain and maybe even a little boring. There were subtle hints of clove, lemon, grass, bread and a hint of spicy hops. The finish is bready, a little spicy and quite dry. This, unfortunately, is a really unremarkable tripel.
2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Bockyhorsey (2590) - Mesa, Arizona, USA - OCT 11, 2009
Bomber. Man the spice was too much on the nose. Some coriander but man an alcohol medicine pad on the nose also. Some fruit noticable in the flavor. But for the most part a hash spice flavor dominated brew. Harsh on the palate. Uck
