3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 bobaidan (433) - Southington, Connecticut, USA - OCT 3, 2009
Pours clear orange with a tiny head. Aroma is a mixture of fruity sweetness and alcohol. Mouth feel is thin in body and light on the carbonation. Flavor is sweet and alcoholy with a touch of spics way in the background. Not an impressive triple, but still very drinkable.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 hayduke (2445) - Eureka, California, USA - OCT 2, 2009
From a 22 oz bottle purchased from the Market of Choice in Eugene, Oregon, the poured a very clear golden orange with a nice sized and long-lasting white head that left moderate lacing. The nose was sweet fruit aromas. The body and mouthfeel were fairly light but it was smooth on the palate. Flavor shows the fruit and some cloves and you can taste the alcohol. Long fruit flavored finish makes for an enjoyable beer.
2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 ross (1874) - weddington, North Carolina, USA - SEP 19, 2009
I think some beers have better bottle designs than the beer that they contain, and this one could follow that rule. The bottle is pretty neat, textured almost with a bead blasted finish on it. The beer itself pours out a yellow color with a white colored head on it. Smell is yeasty and full of bread and sugars. Some alcohol is noticeable in the smell. In the taste the alcohol is far more pronounced with an almost burning as you drink it. As it warms up I believe it gets worse. This was not a very good beer..
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 puboflyons (1111) - Allenstown, New Hampshire, USA - SEP 13, 2009
2009 Limited Release bottle marked May 21 09-4-53. The first thing I notice before I even pour it is how nice the bottle feels. It is a heavy duty brown bottle. The pour is not as dark as I would have hoped. It is copper in color with little to no head. Wheat, cloves, and other spices are noted in the aroma. The mouthfeel is a bit thinner than an authentic Abbey Tripel. The flavors are rich with wheat, clove, and hops, living up to the taste test for an Abbey Tripel. Authentic in some ways and weak in others. Drinkable enough.

Draft. Pours a fairly clear, golden orange color with a foamy white head. Has the typical belgian yeast, wheat, spice aroma and flavor. The alcohol is pretty noticeable.

Tap at KC Flying Saucer. A clear and dark amber to nearly copper colored body. The nose was sweet malt funk with some hints of caramel and toasted nuts. The taste is bitter toast with green tea and some pecan notes. There is some bread crust. A little thin for the style, I found this to be slightly better because it wasn’t overly sweet, but the strange earthy tea notes threw off the package for me.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 osu97gp (456) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - SEP 6, 2009
Pours a golden color with a white head. Aroma of fruit, spices and yeast. Flavor of yeast and spice with a fairly strong alcohol taste. Decent.

Pours an amber color with an off-white head. Aroma is of caramel, dark fruits, light alcohol, and a little candied sugar. Flavor wasn’t as strong as I thought it was going to be. Flavor is dark fruits and caramel mostly with some alcohol warming on the finish.
