Bottle. Pours clear dark yellow-orange with a small, fizzy white head, mostly diminishing with spare lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (cookie, hay, straw), average hop (flowers, perfume, grass), heavy yeast (dough, horse blanket) with notes of banana, clove, pear, and ginger. Medium bodied, sticky texture, average carbonation, and a bitter finish. Long duration, moderate sweetness, acidity, and bitterness.

Rich golden pour, light head. Lots of spice, honey, yeast, vanilla and a wet woody note in the aroma. Flavor is yeasty and fruity. Boring. Lacking effort IMO.

CaptainCougar (7093) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - OCT 13, 2009
Pours a transparent deep orange copper with a thin ring of white head. Has a sweet sugary caramel malty nose with a hint of strawberries and alcoholic warmth. Starts with a good malty fullness and a biscuity sugary toffee flavor before a slightly yeasty and warming finish. Could be closer to style and more complex.

Sammy (7034) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 16, 2009
Bubble gum aroma. Medium yellow colour with off-white soapy head. ABove average carbonation. Too much yeast up front and aggressively carbonation. Other than that, drinkable. Candi helped to disguise the high alcohol. Medium mouthfeel overall, some off-sournish in finish. A half pint is a lot.

Bottle from Wegman’s Holidays 2009 rated from notes and I remember this one too. Pours dark straw with 2-finger off-white head. Nose is rock sugary malt, hopcitrus. Tastes rather sweet, with rock malt, heavy hopcitrus. Not well balanced nor complex, this one wasn’t great.

Bomber, thanks to a couple fine folks! Poured fairly clear medium orange with a slim cap of white head that didn’t stick around for too long. The aroma picked up pale and fruity malts topped by coriander, rye, and peppery yeast.. a little too much sweetness evident, but it did mask the alcohol. The flavor found fruit and biscuity sweetness at the core, again with lots of spices around (coriander, orange zest, and vanilla come to mind).. dry white peppery alcohol dominated the finish over scratchy, almost cardboardey pale malts and honey. Medium-bodied and hot overall with just too much spicage going on.. not bad, but I just couldn’t get into it.

Drake (6488) - Ivy, Virginia, USA - JAN 23, 2012
2009 vintage bomber from Peace Street Market in Raleigh. Pours a hazy amber with floating particles. The thin creamy slightly off-white head shows no signs of going anywhere. The aroma is spice, candi sugar, pears, citrus and a faintly hoppy finish. The taste is bread, candi sugar, bubblegum, butter rum, raisin, spice, toasted notes and slight oxidation. Medium-full bodied, high carbonation and a faint bit of warmth.

Bottle @ home. Not exactly sure how long I’ve had this but it’s surely been over a year. A touch hazy, burnt orange appearance with a white head. Dull citrusy, bready, slightly boozy aroma. Bready, slightly boozy, a touch spicy, a little bitter, lightly citrusy flavor. Not tasting all that great now.

Pours amber with a nice white foamy head. Smells of cirsp, dry malt, bananas, cloves, coriander. Tastes dry and spicy with some banana hints, honey, some light fruitiness. Not a Tripel, but unexpected. I enjoyed this.

Bottle. Amber beer with an off-white head. Peach and fruity ester aroma with light malt. Malt and honey flavor with fruity esters, light spice and light yeast. Medium bodied. Malt and fruitiness lingers with light spice/light yeast.
