COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Deep golden hued, with subtle hints of vanilla, clove, and cinnamon. Fruity, spicy, and warming with a complex but soft malt character. Editor’s Note: Limited edition summer seasonal for 2009 but pilot batches were available at fests and the brewpub prior to this release.

Very drinkable. Pours golden with a small head and lacing. Aroma of spice. Vanilla, cloves in the flavor. Nice melding of the flavors, but nothing spectacular.

Sampled in a 22oz. Pours with a really impressive golden brown hue. Thin white lacey head. The aroma is sweet. The palate is nice but not the best and what you would expect. Great drinking brew. You can taste the alcohol.

From 22 oz. bomber Appearance: Pours a light amber, showing visible carbonation, and a white pinstripe of a head. Aroma: Heavy whiffs of clove and Belgain yeast. There are also light whiffs of banana and spicy hops. Taste: A mixture of cloves and spicy, bitter hops hit the tip and middle of my tongue right off the bat. Then I get some fruity, sugary sweetness, followed by the same flavors from the beginning, in the finish, lingering on the back of my tongue. Also seems kinda boozy and warm. Mouthfeel: Sticky, and very fizzy. Overall: A well made Tripel, although this seemed very young as of this writing. While a tad hot, you’d be hard pressed to find much fault with this beer.

Golden hue, medium head... very smooth with a flavor of banana and cloves... hides the alcohol very well in taste but more noticeable in smell as you finish a sip

Wow, over 10% and I tasted nothing of the booze, so, look out...easy drinking here. Not my style of choice but this was a surprise, I liked it.

Originally reviewed: 7/23/09. 22oz picked up at a grocery store while visiting in Charlotte. Poured into my tulip glass. Pours a dark rusty orange with a decent-sized off white head on top. Little retention, and little to no lacing present. Smells of yeast, pineapple, and light breads. The mouth is spritzy and well carbonated, as I would expect. Flavor is yeasty and slightly tart. Finishes slightly acrid and roasty. That’s a weird aftertaste. Alcohol is pretty well-hidden. Not a bad beer by any means. I’d love to see how this ages. I may have to get another...

Bomber from Liquor Max in Loveland, CO. Orange/copper color with a decent white head. Belgian kandi and spice lie beneath sweetish, somewhat tropical, fruit aromas. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Flavor is typically Belgian. Spice/yeast, hop, kandi and lighter fruit. Heat is not noticeable. It’s smooth and tasty. It drinks way too easy. Not all that sweet for a Belgian anything. A very good ale, but probably not going to duke it out with the big guys.

Bottle: Poured a golden color with a light white head. The nose is fruity but very lacking in the ester department. Some predominant sweet herbal notes along with some sweet fruity front of the tongue notes upon first tasting. The body is light and snappy but the flavor still feels a bit medieval. Thick and sweet, more herbal, hops are showing, but still uneven vs the nose. Good tripel, but I was hopping for more carbonation and a little thinner in the body.
