I think some beers have better bottle designs than the beer that they contain, and this one could follow that rule. The bottle is pretty neat, textured almost with a bead blasted finish on it. The beer itself pours out a yellow color with a white colored head on it. Smell is yeasty and full of bread and sugars. Some alcohol is noticeable in the smell. In the taste the alcohol is far more pronounced with an almost burning as you drink it. As it warms up I believe it gets worse. This was not a very good beer..

Jan 7, 2010 Clear golden color with a white head. Aroma of lemon, and a little banana and spice. Very sweet, medium sourness, and lightly bitter. Not so good.

Jan 4, 2010 Bottle ( 22oz ). Shared by garthicus with me and blankboy. Clear amber, small white head. Sweet, boozy and thin aroma - an odd nuttiness, but mostly booze and sugary fruit. Taste - same, really strong alcohol, dry and yeasty, but in the background - really boozy. Thin, astringent, weakly carbonated, with a long dry, slightly sour finish. Ehhh - not great.

Jan 4, 2010 Appearance: Golden orange with a medium white head. Flavour: Vanilla, raisin, slight alcohol tang. Flavour: Super sweet, lots of vanilla, tiny amount of ginger, alcohol very definitely evident, some winter fruits and a long sticky caramel finish. Just okay.

Dec 23, 2009 Interesting beer. I’m impressed. Poured with a nice white head and a little lace. Color is a clear amber. Aroma is a little mild; not much of the Belgian aromas, but nice. Flavors and body are on the soft side, sweet with bitter overtones. Alcohol is sneaky. Great body and carbonation. Finish is easy. Oddly in spite of the alcohol it’s almost a session brew.

Dec 16, 2009 (bottle - 22 oz) Managed to save some of this from when the possum in the garage battled my beer shelf. Bastard. Dark copper color with not much head. Aroma is sweet and malty with a nice hint of spices and some vanilla. Flavor is very big and malty. Mild spice but a ton of sugar and malt with some spicy yeast. I can detect very mild vanilla at the end, but mainly it’s sweet malts and light yeast. Some bitterness coming through at the end. Thanks to David for this one.
