0.5 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20
UPDATED: OCT 26, 2013 Cask conditioned sample at the Redhook brewery in Woodinville, so this is the best that it gets. Natural overtones of dish soap and toe jam permeate this beer with just a hint of castor oil. Nasty aftertaste makes the drinker wish that they had brought some mouthwash with them. Head lays flatter than piss on a platter, and the brown color reminds one of dead leaves. Overall a very undrinkable beer, and well worthy of the Redhook name.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured into a glass stein. Copper, transparent with a finger of head.
Roasted malt smell, almost smoky.
Good malt all the way through, big bitter at the end. Balanced.
Bubbly (not too much), medium body.
Perfect winter drinker and quite easy to throw back a few with no problems.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. The pour was a clear copper brown with a huge (3-4 finger) off white rocky head that had great retention, finally reducing to a large foamy cap and had some fair spotty lacing.
The aroma was of toasted caramel malts, spruce hops and a doughy yeast with notes of citrus (orange), toffee and dark fruit (plums and raisins).
The taste was moderately sweet and had a nice malty feel with hints of toffee and citrus at first and then became mildly hoppy with a note of dark fruit and a slight bitter finish. The flavor lasted only a short while with the fruity hoppy taste fading relatively quick.
Mouthfeel was light to medium in body and mildly dry in texture with a soft carbonation.
Overall a decent Winter Warmer that was very drinkable, although it is nothing over the top...

Copper pour thin head at redhook. Crisp clean hoppy and bready with a nice finish. One of the best at the brewery.
