3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Pours a deep amber with a medium-sized off-white head. Hoppier than I expected for either an English strong ale or even an American winter warmer. Some roasted malt, bit of citrus, but not much spice (which is fine by me). Not bad -- but not exceptional either.

Pours off-white head, coper color. Strong floral scent with notes of citrus. Taste of slightly sweet toasted, caramelish cereal with citrus touch, some feel of lime leaves. Finish is dry.

Refrigerated bottle poured into a shaker. Pours deep copper with two off-white head that dissapates some. Some lacing, medium body, and light caramel malt aroma. Taste is slightly roasted caramel malt, slightly off taste in the center, and finishes slight bitterness.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours a medium brown with light off-white head and nice lacing on the glass. Not much in the aroma, a bit of robust malts, but not much. Flavor is smooth and malty, slightly sweet, with a dry finish. Pretty good, really drinkable.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Mild spice malt aroma. Pours a clear dark brown with an orange tinge. Has a sweet but sour taste. Sense some roasted malts. Sourness lingers a little but not too much. Sense a sweet faint apple aroma which is in the taste too. Not bad overall.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
16oz draft from Old Chicago poured into a shaker. Pours a clear dark red with minimal head. Aroma of caramel malt and light pine hops. Taste of pine and floral hops with a nice caramel finish. Medium bodied with a somewhat thin texture. Lively carbonation and a long bitter finish. Overall, not bad. I could easily drink this again.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Clear dark amber, with a nice but small foamy head that left ok lacing. Aroma was confusing for an English Strong, or a winter ale for that matter. I got a lot of citrus rind, nutmeg, toasted biscuit, burnt toffee, and a great big dose of herbal hops. In the flavor the hoppiness was a little restrained, leaving plenty of room for some biscuity toffee malts to come through, with some citrus rind, a little nutmeg, and some soft bitterness from herbal hops at the finish. Not shabby, but nothing I’d buy again.

Your typical malty semi-sweet, semi-bitter winter warmer. Medium everything. Not bad.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
This beer had a lot of upfront maltiness / caramel in the aroma and taste and finished with a strong. lingering hop presence. This is a good cold weather beer.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottled Sept 23. Toasted malt scent yet distinctly hoppy. Excellent deep copper pour...looks delicious. Sweet flavor with a long bitter finish. Well carbonated, perhaps a little chalky on the palate. Solid beer to chase dinner with.
