THOUGHTS: Not so hot. It was definitely not very British. A lot of west coast hops in the aroma and some i the flavor too. This doesn’t really say winter to me either. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a dark brownish amber with a small, off-white head that mostly diminished and left fair to good lacing. The aroma was light grain, cereal and caramel malt, and moderate pine and orange citrus hops. The flavor started a little sweet and a little bitter, and finished a little more bitter with an average to long duration with an average to long duration. There was caramel malt with a hint of chocolate and orangey hops. The medium body was slightly syrupy with fizzy carbonation and a metallic almost soapy finish.

Amber color with an average head. Floral hop aromas balance well with the malts. Some spiced and hops in the taste but not a whole ton of flavor overall. A very moderate beer more like an average amber ale.

Winter 2008: Very nice seasonal, this beer is impressive. Burgundy in color with a billowing, fluffy tan head that sticks around. The sides of the glass are strewn with thick layers of lacing. A strong carbonation can be seen through the body of the beer. Thin malty aroma with notes of toffee, mild chocolate and yeast. It smells as if this is generously dry hopped due to the fruity hop aromas. Good balance, but it drinks a touch too thin. Malt and hops are well proportioned. Lots of hearty malt flavors. Cereal, toast, chocolate, and coffee are stuffed inside of a lightly evergreen mildly citrus hop taste. Bargain winter seasonal that is crafted well above it’s price tag considering the competition. Aside from a light body I found this most enjoyable

12 oz. bottle. Clear, amber color with a thin, white head. Aroma of caramel, cinnamon, and some roasted nuts. Flavor is a bit off. Some vegetal notes, with a hint of piney hops. Malty finish.

Draft. Pours deep red/brown with thin white foam. Nice roasty, malty backbone with a hop kick at the end reminiscent of pine and spice. This is a very nice winter beer.
