2008 Bottle - Aroma is pine resin, grapefruit, rich malt...flavour is similarly citrusy, lemon and grapefruit, bitter on the front end, enought malt to balance but not the slightest bit sweet, floral hops as well, shares quite a few characteristics with a fresh hop harvest ale...good beer, just not what I think of as a great winter ale...

12 oz bottle. Pours dark amber with a white head. Aroma of pine with some citrus . Has a medeum body with a slighty malty finish. Has a decent hop profile. Not as dark and heavy as i would like in a winter beer. It coms of more like a hoppy ESB.

Pours a creamy looking medium-brown color with a nice thick head. Aroma is strong and roasty. Very nice. The flavor is full of roasted maltiness, but not nearly as sweet as some high-malted beer. Good amount of hoppy bitterness too. Mouthfeel is quite enjoyable. Almost creamy. This beer has a lot of flavors, and a very good balance of each.

bottle thanks to swalden 28. poured a dark amber with an off white head. aroma of some floral hops, citrus, and pine. flavor was piney, grassy, and some good hops. this would be a good IPA/APA. not sure why its called a winter brew, but hey whatever makes ya money right?

it’s the best "winter" beer i’ve had. it’s a fruity flavor with roasty afternotes, i don’t know how they pulled it off

Bottle from S&K Beverage in Plano, TX. Pours a clear, dark amber, off-white head. Aroma of citrus, pine and berry. Flavor is malty, piny, hoppy bitter, some citrus. Body is light-medium, high carbonation. Overall, it is a hoppy esb......I don’t know why they call this a winter brew....

Bottlede on 10/29/08 and drank on 11/14/08. Pours with a huge, fluffy, off-white head and a dark hazlenut body. Some good lacing. Some spicey piney hops and a bit of toasted malt and orange peel in the aroma. Taste is hoppy with some orange and a bit watery compared to the aroma. Some toasted malt and toffee. Creamyish mouthfeel, and light carbonation.

2008 seasonal. Clear dark amber pour with fair light tan head. Nose of citrus hop with a hint of pine. Some maltiness in the flavor but not much. Good as a hoppy esb, but not much of a ’winter’ beer...
