2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 troopie (1557) - Munchen an der Willamette, Oregon, USA - NOV 25, 2006
Bottle poured a clear tarnished copper. Aroma of bread, citrus and very piney, almost like a cleaning solvent. Bready flavour with malt and spice. Hoppy flavour with a metallic tang. This doesn’t remind me of any English strong ales.
2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 8/20 Ratman197 (5540) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - NOV 22, 2006
Bottle poured a clear tarnished copper with a small lasting amber head. Aromas of bread, a hint of brown sugar, a bit of anise and plastic. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of bread, a hint of rye and light spice with a smooth dry lightly astringent finish.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 incutrav (577) - Woodbury, Minnesota, USA - NOV 22, 2006

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Holdwine (1000) - Beertimore, Maryland, USA - NOV 21, 2006
Let the overhopping begin (or, I should say, continue). Decnt enough Mallt and spice base gets overwhelmed by hops. Not very true to style. Still, it does have its bright points- looks good in the glass and some thought did go into the malt.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Ibrew2or3 (4699) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - NOV 20, 2006
12 oz bottle stating 6% ABV. Nice copper color with frothy off white head. Great lacing. Light malty aroma with some cinnamon and a bit of hops. The flavor sports a full caramel maltiness backed up by a grapefruit hop bite. Hidden between the malts and hops are hints of nutmeg and cinnamon.
2.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 jake65 (2095) - Williston, North Dakota, USA - NOV 20, 2006
Bottle: Reddish brown color with a smaller head. Aroma is very light, bready with some spice. Taste is malt with a hint of spice, some metallic notes and a dry finish. Not what I expect of an English Strong Ale...
2.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 unclemattie (3244) - Georgia, USA - NOV 16, 2006
Reddish amber, thin white head. Hop up in the front, awful dirty corn malt in the finish. Won’t try this one again.
2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 EithCubes (3054) - GERMANY - NOV 14, 2006
Bottle. Sweet and spiced aroma, floral hops with pine, spruce, and sweet corn, and a little herby funk. Amber-copper pour with a short but sticky beige head. Grainy, lightly hoppy, and dry taste, a little gritty from spice. Toasty notes are way down in the mix. A little woody and a little nutty, and pleasantly dry, but a bland disappointment overall. And very light vegetal bitterness. Medium body and slightly acidic. Pretty nasty aftertaste.
