Awful Tower. Redunderton County. This is actually a pretty seriously good brew. I’m not good at reviewing beers like some people on this site, but after 700 I hope I can judge a beer halfway. This is a solid one that lights a cowboy’s fire at midnight on a cold moonless night.

Pretty tasty, low in alcohol for the style, but plenty flavor, nutty and brown and tasty, like eating a filbert nut on the fourth of july, awesome beer, I can drink 1000 of these in honor of our country’s birth.

Pours a nice brown color with a small off-white head. Roasted malt nose with a touch of English hoppiness. Flavor is rich and malty, roasted toasty goodness with a bit of dark fruitiness and maybe a hint of peppery spice. Well balanced and very enjoyable.

Draught. Clear brown color with off white head that laced the glass. Roasty nose and flavor. Molasses and coffee flavors. Carbonation was nice, as it was on the low end.

Light brown in color, bright, with a moderate, tan head. Aroma of milk, toast, ashtray, some sweetness, and some fuggle-like hop. Flavor and aroma are one. Quite pleasant (considering the aforementioned ashtray) and the hop flavor becomes very pronounced as it warms.

This one definitely grew on me as the first bottle emptied. Fruity with a nice bitter edge. It seemed to get hoppier the more I drank, but maybe that was due to something I’d eaten earlier. Probably the best I’ve had from Red Hook.

There is a light floral hoppy aroma. The color is a clear golden brown. A small white head forms on the pour but is short lasting and with no lacing. The flavor has some hoppiness but for the most part is weak and the finish on the palate is uneventful.

Sampled from bottle. Pours clear, dark brown with a thin, collared head. Aroma is very subtle with only some earth and coffee notes. Flavor is slightly bitter with chocolate, pine and black pepper. Bitterness lingers. Medium-full body, moderately carbonated. Other than its looks, a decent beer. Quite hoppy for the style.
