2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 AirForceHops (991) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - DEC 18, 2010
On tap at the Brew pub. Pours a hazy dark rusty red color with a medium head. OK retention and lacing. Aroma of caramel, fruity notes, a bit of chocolate and bitter, peppery hops. Taste is caramel, cinnamon, bitter leafy hops. Medium bodied. There is some drinkability here, just not a style I care to much for. But it’s worth a try for the people who like this style
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 cmc619 (240) - USA - DEC 6, 2010
Tastes like a sturdily hopped APA with a bit more alcohol warmth, even though it’s not too strong at 5.9%. Nice burnt orange color, fully translucent, good head and lacing. Overall just a really well-brewed, great-drinking beer, with no skimping on the hops.

Bottle. Clear deep copper, small beige head. Caramel malt and light hop aroma. Flavor similar to aroma with sweetish malt, slight spice, and a bitter hop finish.

Deep copper/amber color with a one-finger head and excellent lacing. Toasted malt and caramel aroma, with evidence of grassy hops. Flavors are similar, and include herbal spice. Medium body, nice carbonation, and a lingering floral hops bitterness that ends in a crisp finish. Much better than expected.

Pours deep amber into a trappist glass. White micro head with good retention recedes to coat surface leaving spot lacing. Spice aromas. Crisp with dark caramel and a sweet lasting pepper finish.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a mostly clear burnished gold with a moderate off-white head that lasted through the first two sips and left partial lace. Aroma is mild malt and not much else. The flavor is malt, caramel, and some light spice. Mild bitterness at the finish. As the beer warms, a nice biscuit flavor emerges. Medium bodied. No problems.
