There is a lot a particles floating around the amber body, only a touch of lacing left on the top. Maltiness and citrus dominate the flavor, as well as a touch of sourness.

Hearty this is not. This is a very weak english strong ale. The aroma has a faint roastiness, but not really anything else. The flavor is thin. all the roasty, malty and sweet flavors that should be present are there, but in such minute amounts that this tastes almost like they watered-down the beer. This is a beer to be avoided.

I'm not a Redhook fan but this is good. Rich malt flavor balanced with roast flavor. Enough hops to ad to the mix without taking over

Good clean favor. I think this beer is a little under-appreciated. Nice hints of fruits and nuts. I would best describe this beer as a pale drk beer. It has a lot of characteristics of a dark beer, but it isn't dark in the least bit. Definately worth trying. I liked it better the colder it was.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Clear, copper/amber with quickly diminishing head, decent lace. Grainy aroma with fruit, spice and slight hops. Thin to medium bodied, slick feel with flavors of slight roast, nasty fruit flavors, slight spice, metallic hops, light malt that is not bad but this puppy doesn’t do it.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
The head was thin and didn’t last long. The feel on my palate wasn’t impressive. It has a nice fruity flavor, but it isn’t very strong. It isn’t my favorite winter brew.

Enjoyable winter brew, but blander than some others. Could use a bit more spice.

Weak. Amber color, thin head with a little lacing. Faint malt aroma with a hint of delicate hops. Flavor is a watered down version of the aroma. Thin mouthfeel, dry finish. Everything about this beer - aroma, falvor, and mouthfeel - was just weak.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: DEC 15, 2007 Rerate Pick up a bit of a nectarine-like fruitiness in the flavor this time around. Enjoyable - same score. Original 3.4 Slightly malty aroma, thin, quickly dissipating head with a wee bit of lacing. Nice amber color. Nothing really memorable about the flavor - kind of dry with a bit of a bitter aftertaste little bit of a hoppiness to it - it’s from the west coast ain’t it?. Beats the Bud Light that they will be serving at the New Years Eve party I am going to.
