UPDATED: DEC 10, 2005 (12/10/05, 12oz bottle, bottled on 11/21/05, ABV = 6%) Small beige head topping a clear nut-brown body. Aroma is medium sweet, spruce, some pistachio, faint anise, nutmeg -- strange combination. Taste is medium sweet, pine, some caramel, light vegetal. Light-medium body. Definitely seems different from the last time I tried it, and not for the better. (5/3/6/3/11)

UPDATED: DEC 1, 2003 Golden-brown. Toasty, chocolatey, with a floral hoppiness. Body comes up quite empty, though. Toasty, woody notes but not much of that good stuff the aroma promised.

Nutty, malty aroma. Nice, brown, appropriately winterish color. Surprisingly thin, but a nice malt flavor, well balanced by hop. Piny, citrusy flavor does not conceal the malt. Arguably dry. Perhaps a light coffee touch in the finish; very light. Nice, and not just for winter.

Sort of a copper colored beer with an off-white head. Some sweet brown sugar and fruit, a bit of water, and slight herbal notes. A bit of citrus peel, sort of watery, and toffee. Flavor is lightly bitter. Mostly sweet toffee, brown sugar, and bready malt. Some herbal and citrus peel hop flavors, a bit of water, and some very mild roast.
