Sparkling clear, burnt orange/ruby ale.
Cheap aftershave and vineous notes within the nose and flavor along with toffee and leathery, citrusy and evergreen hops.
Medium-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and fizzy carbonation. Short, thin, lightly bitter finish.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
2002 bottle: I wasn’t expecting too much from this one and I was not let down. It definitely needs to warm a little for any flavor to come through. Pours a dark amber color with minimal head and lace. Aroma is lightly matly and spicy. Flavor is slightly nutty with a little butterscotch or caramel but overall it is thin. Not as robust as I like my winter ales.
