COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A rich, hearty ale brewed for a clean, dry, roasty palate.

The best thing about this beer was the color. Taste was not remarkable, slightly metallic. Not a beer for me.

Good beer. Smooth and refreshing. A little more heavy tasting than many other ales, which I kind of expected. Hints of caramel, pine, and a mild hoppy flavor.

Average, average, average, average, average. What else is there to say? Pours fine, smells ok, tastes decent, but with no real character. "Hearty" it is not. Not distinguishable from a mediocre summer ale.

Enjoyable winter brew, but blander than some others. Could use a bit more spice.

A much better winter than others including Sam Adams with a nice slight spiciness.

Bottle: Amber color. Nice tan head that stayed around awhile. Malty aroma with a hint of spice. Nice lingering after taste.

bottle - Clear, copper/amber with quickly diminishing head, decent lace. Grainy aroma with fruit, spice and slight hops. Thin to medium bodied, slick feel with flavors of slight roast, nasty fruit flavors, slight spice, metallic hops, light malt that is not bad but this puppy doesn’t do it.

Really want to like this one more. For an English strong ale it seems awfully hoppy, kind of detracts from the drinkability for me. Bitter/citrus peel way overpowers any malty sweetness that may be there.

This beer is tasty and delicious, but i wish it was stronger since its supposed to be a "robust winter ale." It does go down nice and smooth though.

Nice aroma. White lingering head leaves pretty lacing on the glass. A little roasty taste kind of sweet. Clean looking beer.
