COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Redhook’s twist on the Belgian style is the addition of fresh ginger, which adds a refreshing snappiness to this lighter-bodied wheat beer. Redhook Wit is perfect for warm summer months of outdoor BBQ-ing, sitting by the pool, or just taking a break by hanging inside enjoying the AC and watching old re-runs of Gilligan’s Island.

"Made with ginger but still digs Mary Ann."

A - Cloudy pale yellow with a fizzy white head that sinks quick. S - A good dose of wheat, sweet bananas, lemon, very light spice. T - Lemon and orange citrus, fruity-reminds me of mild fruit cocktail syrup, light coriander on the edges, thick wheat malt underneath. Ginger comes out as it warms and lingers through to the finish. M - Medium bodied but full creamy feel with prickly carbonation. The ginger is a nice touch but starts to get weird towards the bottom of the glass. It’s nice choice for some variety though. Poured a half finger of head on a cloudy, medium straw colored body. The aroma is a dose of ginger with a little dry grain in the background. The ginger really spices up the witbier nicely here. A little ginger with a mild bitter, rounded out by soft wheat taste. The texture is softer with moderate carbonation. I’m not a fan of witbier but I liked this.

Redhook Wise Cracker Wit. Serving: 12 oz. bottle from Wegmans Leesburg. It pours a pretty solid gold color with a small white head. The nose is faintly Wit like with a touch of yeast and orange peel. The flavor is light but nice. A little wheat, a touch of yeast, and a nice orange blossom the whole way through. Light in body with average carbonation. Nice summer time fare.

Bottle. Pours a hazy dark golden color with a smallish white head. Nose is a little citrusy with some wheatiness coming through. Taste is a little light and very slightly citrusy. OK, but nothing special.

Golden in color, cloudy with a thin white head. Good hops and wheat aroma. Nice easy drinking wit beer. Light malt with a fruit backing. There is a hint of ginger in the flavor. This was a very tasty Wit beer.

Pour is a cloudy orange with a small white head. Aroma is some orange peel but that is very minor. Flavor again is very minor coriander with a little fruityness. This was not a good wit. Very bland and dull.

Bottle - pours pale straw yellow with a highly effervescent white head that descends quickly into a film then lingers. Aroma is pretty faint...wheat, some spice, hint of banana / orange. Flavor is even fainter than the aroma...but what is there is actually quite pleasant, but unlike most witbiers I’ve had in the past - very fruity with lemon and orange, hint of banana, slight bit of yeast, touch of spice, splash of corn. Palate is highly carbonated, but quite easy drinking. I’m really torn on this one...part of me wants to see the flavors come out more, but the other part of me appreciates this for what it is - a very light wit that is highly sessionable. Well, would I have one again - certainly...so it can’t be all that bad!
