2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 DiarmaidBHK (2268) - Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 6, 2011
First things first: this is not a wit beer. Pours slightly cloudy from bottle with almost no head. Aroma smells like a mass market pale lager with notes of medicinal alcohol tinged with metal. What you don’t get either on the or on the tongue is any sort of orange peel or coriander flavor. Pass!
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 jjuf1853 (1157) - Land O Lakes, Florida, USA - AUG 5, 2011
Bottle at World of Beer in Carrollwood. Pours a cloudy golden yellow color with a thick foamy white head. Nicely spiced aroma and flavor with noticeable ginger. Decent American Wit.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 curly (2394) - Kirkland, Washington, USA - AUG 4, 2011
Sample on tap. Pours hazed yellow. Aroma of grain and light citrus. Taste was pretty much the same, kind of bland.
3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 ChainGangGuy (4116) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - AUG 3, 2011
12 ounce bottle - $1.49 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.
Bottled On: May 26, 2011. The packaging for this one is pretty good; I like the bottle, I like the label, though good packaging don’t necessarily mean good beer.
Appearance: Pours a hazed, pale orange body with a scant, white head.
Smell: Not the most effusive nose in town, but it still yields notes of wheat malt, sweet, juicy citrus peels, and, though rather lightly, ginger powder.
Taste: A lightly tangy, lightly sweet taste of malted wheat greets the imbiber on the opening sip. Small zip and zing of citrus zest with the smallest amount possible of added coriander. Light ginger character. Near nil bitterness. Fruity, sweetish on the finish.
Mouthfeel: Light-bodied. Medium-low carbonation.
Overall: Fairly decent, I think the choice for a bit of ginger was a good one and look forward to possibly trying this one on draft at some point.
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 ben4321 (2979) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - AUG 2, 2011
Location: 12 oz bottle from Colonial Wine and Spirits, 8/3/11
Aroma: The nose is grains, wheat, lemon, dust, and a touch of spice
Appearance: It pours a mostly clear yellow color with almost no head or lace
Flavor: The taste is light-mid sweet with a minimal amount of bitterness
Palate: The body is somewhat thin, with a fairly fizzy carbonation and medium length duration
Overall Impression:
Overall, this is an average-to-mediocre example of the Belgian White style. It certainly won’t impress you, even if you are more of a fan of this style then I am. It isn’t close to a must try.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 thornecb (3638) - Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA - AUG 1, 2011
Pours hazy pale yellow into a shaker. Bright white head recedes to coat surface. Sweet glazed donut aromas. Sweet wheat upfront turning to mild ginger in the lasting bready finish.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 5000 (4962) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - AUG 1, 2011
Bottle:   Hazy straw, thin white head, sudsy, minimal lacing.   Subtle spicy nose, pale ginger and corriander.   Smells pretty good.   Spritzy ginger flavors up front.   Soft, but yet dominates the corriander I got on the nose.   Moderate body and mouthfeel, albeit its a little spritzy/bubbley.   Not strong enough for my tastes, but I can see where this would appeal to a large majority of Redhook drinkers.   Not the greatest Wit, but respectable.
2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 Radek Kliber (5906) - Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), POLAND - JUL 29, 2011
Bottle 355 ml
Aroma: fairly aromatic, dusty, malty with light yet noticeable hop notes. Slight citrus hints behind.
Appearance: frisky bright amber , fresh copper with mid haze. Initial large top but with short live. 2+
Body , Flavour , Palate and Final Notes: medium lighter bodied. quiet sweet sugary malty , touch of mango and peach , slight bitterness on walls. Quiet fruity. Bit empty on character once you passed that. Fine.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Westmeister (923) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - JUL 17, 2011
Draft. Pours a cloudy yellow with a thinnish white head. Smells of doughy yeast, light citrus and a hint of clove, however subdue. Taste is light, crisp and refreshing with some lemon zest and subtle spice (maybe ginger). Nothing memorable. Decent summer brew, but nothing special.
