3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 bhensonb (8995) - Woodland, California, USA - SEP 7, 2011
Bottle from Total Wine in Roseville, CA. Pours hazy gold with a big creamy/fizzy white head. Aroma seems citrus with a little clove. With a touch of Belgian yeast. Near medium body. It comes on confused, then settles into ginger, then wears out into a little light malt. Not the best wit ever, but clearly drinkable.

Pale and cloudy yellow pour. Soapy, white head. Aroma hits with tons of ginger, ivory soap, and light caramel. Flavor is a bit tart up front, ginger hits pretty hard, and some hops on the finish. Unique but not amazing.

Pours a rather clear golden yellow color with a finger of white head. Kind of a weak nose. Some cereal and grain sweetness, a bit of bread, a light orange peel aroma, and minimal spice or yeast. The flavor is a bit more spicy. Ginger, coriander, and orange peel dominate. Some sweet bread, a cereal/grain flavor, and a hint of yeast. Just a faint touch of banana on the finish. Very light bodied with medium carbonation.

12 oz. shitter bottle from Capone’s that looks like only about 6 ounces. Odd statement on human shape perception as it applies to beer receptacles. Pours hazy canary with minimal white head. Nose is orange zest, coriander, malt, hops. Tastes citric, with bready pale malt, hops, spice, orange zest, and a pretty smooth finish. Not too shabby.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 adnielsen (6200) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - MAY 27, 2011
Bottle @ home. Banana yellow-orange, cloudy appearance with a white head. Belgian yeast, wheat, lemon, citrus fruits, banana in the nose that’s slightly spicy. Quite wheat malty, yeasty, bready, banana, citrus fruity flavor that’s slightly more bitter than most Witbiers. Light ginger, fairly high carbonation. Probably would be a refreshing beer on a hot summer day but it’s an average Witbier in my mind.
