2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 bpreo (1173) - Eugene, Oregon, USA - JUN 4, 2012Something is just not right with this Belgian Witbier, unfortunately. Still, I can’t help but be charmed by the darling little bottle that all Red Hook beers come in.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 Aubrey (3347) - Bellingham, Washington, USA - MAY 20, 2013
Hazy light orange with a quickly fading head. Effervescent up front; a bit cloying in the finish. Chewy, heavy-handed malt flavors of wheatgerm, plain crackers, and hay. Mild hop bitterness with meadowy, herbal, and earthy elements. Ginger is pleasantly in the background; provides a bit of spice and curious heat. Overall, it’s kind of underwhelming with restrained aromas and muted flavors.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 FROTHINGSLOSH (3977) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 19, 2013
Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a cloudy yellow-peach color with a medium sized foamy white head that left a bit of lacing. The aroma was dryish and a bit must and dusty with a bit of black pepper. The flavor was dryish, musty and yeasty with notes of black pepper, citrus and a bit of sulfur. Medium length finish of must, pepper and citrus. Medium body. Eh.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 OKplus (379) - Oklahoma, USA - MAY 10, 2013
A - Cloudy pale yellow with a fizzy white head that sinks quick.
S - A good dose of wheat, sweet bananas, lemon, very light spice.
T - Lemon and orange citrus, fruity-reminds me of mild fruit cocktail syrup, light coriander on the edges, thick wheat malt underneath. Ginger comes out as it warms and lingers through to the finish.
M - Medium bodied but full creamy feel with prickly carbonation.
The ginger is a nice touch but starts to get weird towards the bottom of the glass. It’s nice choice for some variety though.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Fatehunter (752) - Corbett, Oregon, USA - MAY 8, 2013
Poured a half finger of head on a cloudy, medium straw colored body.
The aroma is a dose of ginger with a little dry grain in the background.
The ginger really spices up the witbier nicely here. A little ginger with a mild bitter, rounded out by soft wheat taste.
The texture is softer with moderate carbonation.
I’m not a fan of witbier but I liked this.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Elwood (2493) - Leesburg, Virginia, USA - MAY 5, 2013
Redhook Wise Cracker Wit. Serving: 12 oz. bottle from Wegmans Leesburg. It pours a pretty solid gold color with a small white head. The nose is faintly Wit like with a touch of yeast and orange peel. The flavor is light but nice. A little wheat, a touch of yeast, and a nice orange blossom the whole way through. Light in body with average carbonation. Nice summer time fare.
