3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Blackberry aroma. Clear golden colour with too much head. Very tart blackberry flavour with smooth finish. Light to medium body with medium to high carbonation.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Fruity aroma- tart, dried, matured fruits.
Weak carbonation, but oily. Tartness from the blackberries is quite prevalent, though not quite as powerful as their Froment.
Well rounded, though virtually no head.
Tartness from the blackberries makes it very difficult to discern any of the flavours of wheat.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
16-Feb-11 (250-ml sample bottle: Free bottle for stewarding the 2008 World Beer Cup in San Diego, CA) Ordinarily, a fruity wheat beer would cellar very poorly, but this one is not your ordinary example. This is unexpected tart, and though it’s not a tartness from a malevolent infection, it doesn’t come close to matching the brewery’s commercial description, so something is probably amiss here. For the most part, it’s just a tart berry character and what seems to be a souring agent, and though simple, it’s still reasonably pleasant. Unfortunately, there is little else going on until the finish when the berry wears off the palate and the beer tastes like a generic wheat beer. This recipe may intend for the base to have the traditional clove and banana esters, but none of that comes out. The somewhat musty nose is mostly tart berry and little else. Weight is light, the mouthfeel is dry and moderately acidic, and the carbonation is medium. In the glass, the beer is red-orange in color with only a slight haze, and the short, fizzy head dissipates rapidly. Overall, whether intentionally sour or not, it’s not bad as a sour beer, but it’s clearly not a hefeweizen.

2.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pretty nice, it’s sour but it’s definitely a blackberry sourness, not that it is off. Not the best Red Oak, but this will do.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Pink, reddish. Some fruit dryness and wooded notes. This isn’t great as it was intended but works as a lambic / sour fruit offering.

0.7 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20
Colour was pinkish red, unfortunately this beer was infected in some way. Very sour taste, no fruity aroma, unpleasant and undrinkable.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
250ml bottle. Light pink colour with a deep but thin white and pink head with pink sediments strewn through the foam. Spritzy aroma of blackberries and zingy and zesty on the palate. Lively with an initial sourness that fades to a pleasant sweet aftertaste.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
250ml bottle as "Blackberry Wheat Beer". Body is cloudy orangey-red with a decent sized loose pinkish-white head. Nose has a faintly lambic quality with a tart fruitiness on top of light wheat malts. Taste is nicely restrained blackberries with a faint wheat sourness and dry tart finish. Palate is light and wispy reflecting the high carbonation. Almost feminine in character. Nice.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 13/20
Very Carbonated! wasn’t paying attention with my first pour, and after the first 30ml ended up with a glass full of foam, put it aside for 5 mins to let it calm down.
Blackberry aroma without any of the banana/clove that i expected. Flavour of blackberry and wheat malt and a strong tartness, some yeast but not as much as i hoped.
Though having not yet had a fruit lambic (lindemans peach not counted) i think this cant be far off one.
