2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 MBison (548) - Southern Highlands, AUSTRALIA - DEC 4, 2007
UPDATED: AUG 25, 2008 RE-RATE: Bottle (330ml). Poured pale bronze with an averaged sized, creamy, off-white head, which lasted very well. Strong notes of cranberries & blackberries in the aroma with toffee malts, tangerines and a hint of spiced cookies. Flavor was of dry caramel malts with sweet cranberries, blackberries and a nutty almond-like finish. Light bodied with soft carbonation, a smooth/watery texture and an average finish. A little one dementional (but than aren’t all red ales?).
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Choos (509) - Taylors Hill, AUSTRALIA - NOV 17, 2007
Aroma: initially a touch of hop and strange ester giving way to caramel notes. Apperance: poures orange/red and lightly hazy with a reasonable head made from large bubbles that quickly flattens. Caramel and very slightly creamy notes that gives way to some light hoppiness. Palate: medium mouthfeel but has a watery aftertaste.

Sweet candyfloss aroma. bright red in colour with small white head. Sweet caramel aroma. To me not true to style and very forgetable.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 ChrisTurner (204) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - JUN 8, 2007
Bottle -- More of a murky orange than red but I’m not familiar with this style. Pours with a medium white head with little retention or lacng. Very light aroma of malty sweetness. Palate is soft but a little dish watery. Flavour is subdued but pretty much like the aroma. Absolutely nothing unpleasant about this beer but still highly forgetable.
2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 winkle (466) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - MAY 1, 2007
On Tap: Poured a basic amber with a medium head. Light malty aroma. Medium carbonation with some reasonable lacing. Not too much going on in the falvour dept, sweet malty notes and a touch of peat?. Not great but smooth and unchallanging
2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 bluevegie (3009) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - APR 14, 2007
Colour looks ok, more amber than red with a decent head. Faint fruity aroma, smooth taste that is a little lacklustre but I suppose it is true to style. Some toffee notes in the taste but not much else.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 plodey (2) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - FEB 9, 2007 does not count
Bottled from beerstore. Nice look and head. Tastes similar to other Irish/Celtic reds I have tasted. Has nice after-taste. Easy to drink.
2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Dredd (639) - Bentleigh, AUSTRALIA - JAN 14, 2007
This is a pretty authentic take on the celtic/irish red ale. Nice colour and indifferent aroma leads in to a mainly sweet beer with minimal bitterness. Flavours are clean with no negative’s, the main problem is the parameter’s of the Irish red ale don’t allow you to do a lot to make it memorable though.
