Pours a yellow colour with a white head. Aroma is fruity with hints of grape. Taste is also fruity with some grape, pineapple and passionfruit. Not bad.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap, nice refreshing style of beer. Pour is light amber with white head. Aroma of light grapefruit which carries over in to the flavour which is light, citrussy and not dissimilar to Knappstein Lager. Does well at only 4.6%

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draught at Redoak, Sydney. Pours light golden with a small white head. Aroma and flavour of malt, passionfruit, pineapple and grape. Fruity and crisp mouthfeel and some dryness in the finish. One of the better Kolsch beers I’ve tried.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Redoak cafe in Sydney. Clear yellow beer with a loose white head. Subtle fruity aromas. Smooth mouthfeel with soft fruity flavours (?passionfruit) and a nice dry crisp refreshing finish. Nice balance of flavours. Easily sessionable. You could almost be in Cologne!

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at cafe. Surprised at the low ratings for this one - I really liked it. Normally not a big Kölsch fan, so perhaps that means they’ve done something wrong. Anyway, went surprisingly great with the Broccoli and spinach soup - the flavours melded miraculously! Very light mouthfeel and... hmmmm... can’t quite read the rest of my scrawl, but i knows i liked it.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap at the Redoak. Arrived golden with a slight chilled haze and a averaged sized, dense, frothy, white head which was mostly lasting. Aroma was of sweet/buttery biscuit malts with grassy hops, mild notes of passionfruit, green grapes, lychee and some grain. Flavor was a decent hop bitterness (grassy) with dry grainy malts, buttery biscuits (mild), passionfruit, lychee and a squeeze of lemon. Light to medium bodied with lively carbonation, a dry mouthfeel and a good finish. Very well balanced; perfect summer thirst quencher.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap at RedOak - Dark golden color. Fruity and butter in the nose. Soft mouth feel, but butterscotch and caramel dominate and just ruin anything decent. Infection problem?

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Had this drop on arrival for their beer dinner back in may. Lovely gold colour with a good head. Almost full in body with full pear taste plus a little malty and a yeasty aroma.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Zesty, refreshing summer drinking. This would be grand on a sun-dappled afternoon if the outside tables overlooked flowing lawns or a lake, rather than dreary Clarence Street. I thought this was arguably a bit tart for the style, but fair warm-weather drinking all the same. Looked great - clear gold with a lavish head. Smelled of tinned peaches and lemon peel. More lemon rind in the flavour mix. (Draught at brewpub)

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Tap at Redoak: Clear yellow-gold with a solid white head. Immediately buttery in the nose, but in a sweet, malty way accompanied by some honeyed floral notes that I quite liked. Very fresh in the mouth with lots of subtle floral hop flavours over a dominant malt presence. I found it a touch rough in the finish. Flavour-wise it reminded me of their cask ale, so I’m curious as to whether the recipe is similar. Overall, quite nice.
