Commercial Description:
This is our first mead released in July 2001. To-date we receive more requests and attention for Black Raspberry Nectar then for any other one of our meads! With the mouth feel and texture of beer and the light taste of a lower alcohol mead this beverage is the very definition of "refreshing".

Courtesy of a Worthog. Light purple/pink color. Aroma of blackberries and raspberries. Much the same in the taste. Very light bodied, fruity and thin. Didn’t even seem alcoholic. A bit tart.

Draft. Pours sparkling pinkish red with little head. Sweet fruity aroma. The flavor has a nice raspberry sweetness. Clean and refreshing.

Much drier and bland than one would expect for a mead with fruit added. The dryness really takes away from what you’re hoping from the raspberries.

From a bottle at the Vintage Estates in Boardman, nice place. Reddish pink with what looks to be some carbonation within! Sweet fruity aroma, overall a very nice and attractive presentation prior to tasting. Surprizingly there is some carbonation on the palate during the sipping, very welcomed. Lighteer and less viscous than other meads. I am fairly sure this was the raspberry and not the boysenberry but the bottles on this site look exactly the same. Anyways, there is a slight raspberry flavor on top of the typical mead wine attributes. That carbonation sure does add enjoyment to these meads. Decent sweet wine finsh. Tho not an expert on meads, this is the best I’ve ever tasted.

Tap at Trappeze Pub, Athens GA pours huez red/ruby thin and quickly disappearing head. taste and aroma, lots of sweet raspberries and honey, light to medium carbonation with hints of fruit tartness in the finish. Overall palate has some boozy notes and syrupy/coating mouthfeel.

Gorgeous blue flip top bottle. I wonder why more drinks aren’t put in blue bottles? Big pop when opening the bottle. Dark red/orange colored. Pretty much zip head, but there’s lots of carbonation coming up from the bottom of the glass. Aroma of raspberries, almost wine-like. Definite honey flavor. "Thickness" in the body as you drink it. As it has a good carbonation level, and is only 8% in alcohol this would be a good replacement for beer or wine colors where those would normally be consumed.

Dark pink and very flat. This beer reeks of washing up liquid, cough medicine and sloe gin. It is a badboy. There is a big root beer herbalness. It is how I would imagine smoking a menthol and eating jelly at the same time to be. Very medicinal, fucking mental. The slick and flat textures work well with the flavours though. I think I like the novelty a little too much, I know I shouldn’t...

Taste 4/9 bottle. Looks: Clear raspberry body. Aroma: Raspberry sweetness. Taste: Sweet and sour effervescent raspberry in a somewhat watery and buttery body.
