Commercial Description:
This is our first mead released in July 2001. To-date we receive more requests and attention for Black Raspberry Nectar then for any other one of our meads! With the mouth feel and texture of beer and the light taste of a lower alcohol mead this beverage is the very definition of "refreshing".

Draft at City Steam (Hartford) - Clear pink and still. Nose was basic with notes of honey and blackberry. Candied berry flavors fade into almost a ricey sake like tone. Light bodied with a faint hint of carbonation. Syrupy from start to finish. Decent, but nothing to go out of your way for. Might be good on pancakes though....hmmm.....

Draft at Dilly Deli. Poured clear reddish color with good legs that lasted. Moderate honey raspberry aroma. Medium body with soft carbonation. Medium fruity sweet balanced flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Solid drinkable mead.

Draught @ City Steam. Served in a snifter. This one pours a clear ruby red color, with absolutely no head on it. There were some bubbles rising up through it. Surprisingly milder aroma for the ABV. Mainly raspberries to the nose, and not much else. Mildly sweet to the taste. The main flavors are honey and raspberries. A light fizziness on the tongue. Interesting, but enjoyable.

on tap @ papago...i watched a keg of this stuff get poured in a matter of an hour and a half so i figured i should give it a try...violet cranberry juice color with a fluffy pink head which quickly disappears. smells really sweet...honey and fake raspberries. quite fizzy. flavor is floral with lots of honey and light raspberry. finishes very dry along with some bitterness which is amazing considering the aroma...

8/07/2007: Redstone Black Raspberry Nectar is a still mead that is transparent, violet/pink in color and has a foamy, light pink-colored head. The aroma is a combination of tart blackberry and red wine. The flavor is floral honey and some black raspberries. The alcohol can be felt in the nose. There is some residual honey flavor on the palate as well. Medium-light body with some faint carbonation which was a bit weird. I really enjoy mean, but this one wasn’t that great in my opinion.

Draught? (250 mL glass) at The Brew Kettle in Stongsville, Ohio. Rating #67 for this mead...

My first mead rating. No head and no bubbles whatsoever. Red Koolaid color. Sweet. Slight alchohol taste, but covered with sweetness. Smell is very, very light. Maybe a little bit of cranberry, but difficult to tell especially with no carbonation. Not too drinkable with the alchohol and sweetness (and I love sweetness), but maybe with some cheese.

pink, cranberry juice appearance, with no head. sweet, strawberry, raspberry and cranberry aroma. As expected, raspberry is the dominant flavor, with some honey sweetness in the background. Mildly effervescent. Refreshing, accessible, and not as intense as most of the meads I’ve sampled.
