2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
The aroma is sweet and a tiny bit plasticky and fruity with the requisite amount of honey. The appearance is pale gold with plenty of bubbles. The taste is like the aroma and quite sweet. The palate is thin but right for a carbonated mead. Overall this is a little disappointing.

1.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
sampled on tap at the 5th Boulder Strong Ale Fest. poured cloudy white with soapy small head. i really thought my brother in-law just rinsed his class and brought back water to drink. I asked him several times, why did you get water? to my surprise this was the beer. another 1 in appearance, 2nd ever and 2nd of the night! nose was weird metallic taste, really sweet and gross. the brother in-law said it tastes like paint and Iím still not sure how he knows that but it explains a lot about him. anyways, i hated this.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
This was really interesting and I think I kind of liked it. Looks like off-colored water from a place where you "donít drink the tap water." Not incredibly appealing, but at least its mead and not beer. Tastes like a lighter mead with some fresh hops. Diane Byrne noted: lychee and Big League Chew. Fo real.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
GABF 2009. Very interesting - a hopped mead. Clear golden yellow color with a fairly fizzy white head. Aroma is honey, spice, and citrusy hops. Flavor is more of the same with citrusy hops and some light fruits. Palate is medium-light and carbonation is fairly high. Pretty good overall.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Surprised at the low scores. I found this really nice and refreshing. The dry hopping gave it a really nice finish and solid flavor.

PP Strong Ale Fest 07. Pours yellow with a mead induced sweet nose. Taste is sweet vinous and very very much a mead. hops are there yes but not much.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Location: Tap at Rattle íN Hum, 4/17/10
Aroma: The aroma is sweet, with some fruity, some honey, and some resiny hop notes
Appearance: Pours a clear apple juice body with minimal head
Flavor: The taste is pretty sweet as well, with a slight hop presence for some balance
Palate: The carbonation is fizzy, and the body is light and refreshing
This stuff was pretty interesting. Certainly a crisp and refreshing drink, though not my favorite style in the world, I do enjoy one of these every now and again.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Courtesy redlight. Pours a clear, light golden color with a small, fizzy, off-white film at the head. Drippy, spotty sheeting shows on the glass. The aroma starts with a very light honey base, followed by floral notes of lavender and heather, with a strangely dry, grassy hoppiness that just seems out of place. It smells earthy, perhaps even a little dirty, which is entirely out of character for a mead. Flavors arenít really any better, based in watered down, stale honey that clashes with earthy, musty, grassy hops. Medium-light bodied for a mead, with a bit of a fizz that I donít really care for, the palate perpetuates the letdown. Odd, and not very enjoyable.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Interesting aroma of stale grassy noble hops, hay, and of course honey. Very pale yellow, clear and still. Dry and light flavor initially, but the flavor of clover and honey , still dry, appears and gathers steam to a climactic finish. Soft carbonation. The intensity never gets there for me although the flavor is nice for a drier mead.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
on tap 11/18/2009 at papago.
pours a slightly yellow shade of clear. no head but it does leave some severe legging.
it smells like flowers... not hops so much, just a straight bouquet. after the initial aroma shock, there are notes of perfume, faint resin, floral hops, mild honey and lots of harsh booze.
if the smell of industrial floor cleaner could be translated into a flavor this would be it... the taste is quite similar to the aroma including honey, harsh and a slight tartness. iím not sure where this is supposed to go... it is just odd, sticky and confusing. ick. 5/3/4/2/10/2.4
