Clear dark yellow. Carbonated. Not terribly sweet. Deep flavor. Very delicious. Hint of spices.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
sampled on tap at the San Diego Strong Ale Festival Nov 2008, an event shared with what seemed liked hundreds of ratebeerians and enjoyed mostly through a straw, since my face was a bloody mess of scabs and stitches. very light in color with a honey sweet nose. taste is very sweet citrus with some hops, but only a little. after a day of imperial stouts, BW and IIPA this was quite refreshing, but not spectactular.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle at Oldsmar Tap House. Looks like white grape juice. Aroma is white grapes, hops, and citrus fruits. Flavor is white grapes, other fruits, and honey. Medium bodied with good amount of carbonation. Not bad at all.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours light crisp yellow with little to no white head. Looks like a Chardonnay. Smells like flowers , honey, sweet. Has a very crisp backbone, very champagne-like, fruity, honey, very floral. Really very good- not too sweet, not too dry. I really like this mead!

Not sure about the whole carbonated mead thing, it almost tastes like soda. That being said, it’s pretty good. Thinner and lighter on the palate than I’m used to for mead, but certainly drinkable nonetheless.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Pours flat with no head. Looks like Chardonnay. Smell is huge fusel alcohol, nail polish, honey, and slight grassiness. Flavor is a lot better with oaky(?) honey, grassy hops and booze. Smooth and a little bit of spritzy carbonation. Worth a try buy just ok.

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
A really interesting twist to the typical sweet meads that Redstone makes. The mead was a nice golden color and was medium to dry in sweetness. A little hop aroma but not to much to overpower the honey. From what I understand the mead will not be made again for some time because of the hop shortage.Get it while you can.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Light pale in appearance and thin. Feels like a white wine spritzer with the sharpness of a pinot grigio with only over tones of honey. Very distinct. A nice summer session with some sharp cheeses

Now here’s a rare and interesting critter. Pretty much a clean-but-standard semi-sweet mead with a hoppy, fruity twist. There is a smidge of hop presence in the nose, and even less bitterness (though it is there). The overall effect is hard to quantify, but refreshing to figure out. My palette chases this all over the place. I really, really like it, though.
