4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
For a brewery Iíd not heard of, outstanding. On cask @JDW - the waterhouse in Manchester City Centre. Amber ale with a very good head retention. A massive tropical fruit aroma which lasts, Iíve not tried anything with an aroma quite like it. Flavours of caramel and grapefruit. It tastes weaker than what it is but with a massive kick to really make it stand out from the crowd. Grapefruit on a long finish. Simply superb.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle. Pours extremely lively, the head settles and stays a little fluffy white sticky covering. Smells of dolly mixtures, pineapple, grapefruit juice and resinous hops. Sweet up front and an amazing smoothness to it. Packed full of tropical fruits as it rolls over your tongue, pineapple, mango, mandarin, then the creeping bitter squeeze at the back which keeps on kicking all the while with that sweet malt backbone there balancing it out. Immensely impressed with this small brewery, my first encounter and wishing Iíd swiped the whole range from the shop when I got this. Dubbed the Northern Kernel? Can see why

Absolutely astonishing. Smooth as silk belying the ABV. Smells floral. Tastes... Complex. Like a whiskey. But without the alcohol fumes. Very moreish. Pity it's so strong!

Bottle, Beer Rtiz Leeds.
Huge hit of mango on the front with hints of lychee and pineapples throughout, I have had this many times and it never disappoints.
Great carbonation and the aroma has all the fruity hints that you expect from DIPA.
If you donít know the story behind Red Willowís name, look it up.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Cask at Pi, chorlton, Manchester. Reddish gold with thin bubbly head. Smells... hoppy. Tastes... hoppy. Grapefruit, orange, lots of peach. Alcohol faintly perceptible in taste + makes tongue tingle. Some caramel from the malt. But this beer is about the hops. Bitter grass and pine on the finish.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On cask at The Maltings, York. Pours a dark golden colour with a decent white head. Aroma of pine, pineapple, caramel, and alcohol. Similar flavours with mild carbonation and an oily mouth-feel. Quite bitter with lingering pine, pineapple and alcohol again. Alcohol is fairly present. Lovely.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
330ml bottle - pours deep amber with a thin white head. First notes are of aromatic grapefruit, citrus and heavy tropical fruits. Taste follows on from the aroma - grapefruit, alcohol coming through with passion fruit. Nice solid and thick body, heavy aftertaste. If only it looked better, it would score much higher. Recommended.

Bottle from Rehills, Newcastle. This is a hazy golden orange coloured beer with orange marmalade and tropical fruit flavours with slight pine on the finish.
