Cask @ Madness festival. Loads of grapefruit, spruce, pine in the aroma. It is quite a hoppy ale, quite fruity.

Cask conditioned at Fleetwood Beer Fest ’11. Gold with white head. My first beer at this Festival and what a good start. Hoppy and bright beer, sharp, bright and crisp. Grapefruit, pithy flavours from the hops on a decent malty body, very enjoyable.

Bottle at home. Hazy orangey amber, thin white head. Light, fresh nose - apricot, tropical fruit, citrus. Juicy fresh hop flavours over a rich malty body, orange pith, light lemon. Feels bigger than the ABV. Dry juicy linger. Lovely.

Cask at PSBH. 9th August 2012. Good rounded and balanced hops the malt comes through very nicely on the initial taste with the hops backended, good for a session

stravale (1371) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - SEP 4, 2012
Bottle from Tomlinsons Beer Shop
Dark golden amber, big frothy head, good lacing
Aroma of caramel malts, biscuit malts, soft citrus fruits, light spicy note
Taste - caramel malts, soft quite rich biscuit malts, tangy citrus fruits, grapefruit pith, touch of grassy hop, marmalade, hint of spicy hop, hint of black pepper, good flavour, fruity for a bitter
Palate - soft carb, medium body. Some bitterness with a light caramel malt sweetness. Well blanced. Finish as main flavour with a gentle linger of spicy citrus hop and biscuity malts
Overall - I thought this was a well-balanced tasty bitter - it’s how bitter should be made - it’s on a par with Buxton Bitter for me

Gravity, Leicester 2011. Clear copper with a thin halo. Attractive, (straw)berries and vanilla aroma with flowery pink grapefruit. Flowery, incensed hop over a solid malt base alluding at toasted nuts and honey. Clean, nuanced, conditioned...no cornflakes at last. Pretty good.

Leighton (7179) - London, ENGLAND - MAY 12, 2013
Cask at the Euston Tap - London. Pours clear gold with a fine, bubbly-foamy white head. Nose holds lots of dried grapefruit, mango and orange. Light to medium sweet flavor with more orange and grapefruit, some mild tropical fruits, lightly sugary pale malts, white bread, straw. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly dry to finish, some straw and hay, dry pale malts, bits of orange and lemon. Very tasty stuff. Well balanced.
