Bottle at home with in London with Chris and Lyoli. Pours deep, red-brown with a fine, frothy tan head. Aroma holds dry coffee, some tangy earth, bitter chocolate. Light sweet flavor, charred malts, hints of tangy dark fruits, bitter roast. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Further tangy dark malts in the finish, scorched earth, bittersweet cocoa. Yeah, a touch too tangy. So so.

Pours as black as the night with no head at all, aroma is roasted malt with the scum you find clinging to rocks on the beach, shellfish is evident but not nice, taste is less offensive more roasted malts, seaweed, not that great

330ml bottle. Not too good. A stale taste. I threw contents away. I guess the brewer would accept my bottle as faulty.

Cask-conditioned at the Cheshire Beeriodical, Seven Stars, Bristol October 2012. Near black with a decent, off-white head. Aroma of dark chocolate, liquorice and roated malts. Flavour had more chocolate, a hint of dark fruits and lingering, dry finish. Very good.

Colore nero, schiuma quasi assente, aroma piacevolmente affumicato, al palato entra leggermente dolce finendo con un amaro persistente ma non eccessivo. Caffè liquirizia e resina. Veramente equilibrata.

Bottle. Black with a thin beige foam. Aromas are coffee and chocolate with soy and hints of smoke. Liquorice with blackberry and floral, spicy notes. Trace cola with marzipan and oil. Flavours are plummy with raisins and dark chocolate and red berries. Smooth chocolate and nutty coffee with pepper. Toffee with earthy hops and a dry finish. A very nice stout.

Meet the Brewer at CP&K. Cask. Opaque black beer, little tan head. Smooth palate, slightly viscous and with low carbonation. Nice dark malts - smooth with just a hint of roast. Tangy. Subtle fruits underneath. Semi dry finish. Not bad.
