Cask at Piccadilly Tap, Manchester. Near black. Thin tan head. Notes of cocoa, roast and a vinous red grapey character beneath. Never too sweet, and a little dry at the end. I love the smoothness of it. Works nicely on cask. Good stuff, not fully convinced about the chocolate leanings though.

Cask @ Manchester Beer & Cider Festival Jan 14. Big choccy nose but sadly doesn’t continue as much into the taste, with a weak blend of roasted malts and dusty cocoa. Disappointing.

Bottle. My first from this brewery. Dark with a small head. Chocolate and coffee present but don’t take over. Easy to drink but a bit more body would have helped.
