COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask, Occasional;
Born from a conversation between a chocolatier, Lee from Pure Origin Chocolate and ourselves we embarked on creating a chocolate stout. After much enjoyable sampling we decided on a bold and complex 85% cacoa single origin Colombian chocolate which provides a lovely dry balanced bitterness and a long espresso finish, we think it works rather well.

50cl bottle. Pours a very dark brown, with a lively head that disappears completely quite quickly. Smells of roasted malts, smoke, dark cherries. Tastes like smoked wood, roasted malts, dark cherries and bitter dark chocolate. High carbonation, fizzy mouthfeel with a bitter-sweet finish.

Cask at The Earl Grey Inn, Leek. A black colour with a medium tan head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malts, some burnt caramel, slight liquorice, a little dark fruits, a hint of smoke and subtle vanilla. Taste of roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, some burnt caramel, slight earth, a little smoke and subtle vanilla. Medium bodied and a smooth texture. A dry, roasted bitterness in the finish. Big chocolate aroma, like a good chocolate ice cream. The flavour is slightly drier, with coffee and a little earthiness coming through. A little thin on the finish but still tasty, smooth and overall, another great Redwillow beer.
