Keg at The Vintage, Leith. Pours clear amber, big frothy white head. Aromas of orange and biscuit. Taste had a good orange peel note, slight caramel. Bitter finish. Good.

Keg from StockMKT pop-up thingy which rocked in Kingston marketplace. Pretty smooth, some caramel malt, hop lingering nicely in the finish. Nice enough beer, went well with my pulled pork bun.

On tap in the Redwillow bar. Macclesfield. Yellow gold with a medium white head. Aroma is citrus, lemon, malrs, biscuit. Flavour is mild hops, kind of needs more, some caramel malts. Not bad, quite enjoyed it.

Cask Hops Bar, Crewe. Sweet fruity berry aroma, pale amber colour. Orangey hoppiness kicks in after a few sips and this gives a dry finish that is long and tasty. This definitely improves after average first impressions and is a cracking full flavoured IPA

Keg at the Lyric, 17/03/14. Clear golden with a moderate off white covering. Nose is citric peel, orchard fruit, bitter orange, bready malts. Taste comprises pithy citrics, mandarin, light grapefruit pangs, straw. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light hop notes in a sweetish close. Ok.

50cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Says IPA on the bottle, but it’s more a golden ale to me. Hazy golden yellow colour, white head. Aroma of pale malts, flowers, pineapple, overripe fruits. Flavour is dry, malty, floral, fruity, malty bitter finish with a hint of citrus. Light-bodied, bordering on fizzy carbonation. Not great.

Draught at Omerta, Cracow. Rather bland and tasteless beer. Medium body, medium bitterness, here some malt, there some notes of apples. Disappointing.

Cask in the Cellar Bar, Chester. Amber ale with thin head. Very fruity flavour with pineapple, banana and a touch of caramel. Flavoursome but not for me.

Aroma: Fresh lemony and floral hops with a subtle biscuit undertone. Appearance: Clear golden colour with a thick white head. Taste: Honey and Lemon sweetness followed by a clean bitterness Palate: Medium bodied with a slight oiliness. Strong carbonation and a spicy but not lasting finish. Overall: Very pleasant example of a British IPA.
