3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On cask at Congress, Longton. Pours black with tan head. Light smoking, well balanced porter. Another good one from this brewery. I’ll try again as I’d had a few by the time I tried this!

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Very dark brown colour. Aroma of smoked malt, cocoa, brown sugar. Flavours of smoke and burnt bitersweet malts. The fine but intense carbonation is the only downside.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
0,33 bottle. Dark, thick but frothy head. Roasted aroma with scent of nuts. Smokey taste, light sourness from dark malts, quite complex. Oily texture, full body, but bit too fizzy.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Cask at the Birmingham Beer Festival 2013. Poured a clear dark brown with a bubbly off white head. The aroma is roasted malt, creamy caramel, coffee and some chilli spice. The flavour is medium bitter with a medium to weak bodied spicy liqourice palate and a short bitter finish. This really was a superb beer.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle, 5.7%. Gusher. Citric and smokey aroma. The smoke is much like a campfire that has burnt out. Very dark brown colour and a very big stable brown head. The flavour is smoked and papery with a citric touch. OK mouthfeel, but prickly from the (over)carbonation. Late coffee flavour, along with a faint chilli warmth. Well-balanced.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: SEP 8, 2013 (Bottled) Ive got 3 bottles of this cause my online beer order got fucked up by the dude at the other end -thus I hope I like this . Big beige head -above deep ruby . oily -chocolate-light smoke nose. A good porter on first reflection, oily palate -earthy .bitter .very rich-the SMOKE texture is just there -not really lively .
r8sceond bottle.; Huge ass beige head..cool lacing . the Chipotles are subtle ,any smoky character is mild really . I’m more sober on second sample . Oily rich porter ...not bad at all
