A surprisingly approachable smoked porter, velvet smooth with a robust malt backbone. This is infused with Chipotles to give even more smokiness and a subtle hint of heat, a real winter warmer.

Tasted this at the Glasgow Beer Festival at the Briggait on the 26th June 2015. Cask, gravity dispense. Dull black in colour with a thin buff head. Good malty aroma with notes of wood smoke long in intensity. Thin oily mouthfeel and poor lacing. Dark malt complex gives a moist maltloaf base with notes of treacle, liquorice and just a touch of chilli oil. Very little in the way of hop resins noted in the short aftertaste. Finish is smooth and malty with dry notes of liquorice, molasses, tobacco smoke, leather and a prickle of heat from the chilli. An interesting porter and surprisingly easy to drink despite the high ABV.

Keg (?, ?)
Lovely smokey roasty aroma, full of malts, lots of chocolate. Fullish palate, but killed by being keggy. Nice dry chocolatiness in the taste and finish. Would have huge potential as a cask ale, shame itís keg.

(Redwillow Smokeless) Bottle 330 ml at home, served into a snifter, ABV 5.7% Dark brown colour on the body, almost three fingers of thick, tan head on top, with quite good retention. Aroma of roasted malts, fruity notes, not much smoke if any. Great taste though, roasted malts, some chocolate, there is smoke here now, peppers that pack quite a heat although nothing extreme, but it persists on the back of the throat. Medium thin body, expected at this alcohol level, good carbonation. Nice!

Quite a mild aroma but packs a massive taste hit of smoked hoppishness. Really quite delicious. Leaves a tangy aftertaste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Half at GRAF. Very dark brown with a bubbly but thin off white head. Sweet, smoky aroma. Taste is smoke, coffee and a hit of spice in the finish. Bit thin, but otherwise great

Bardzo fajny porter w stylu angielskim. Delikatnie wędzony, nisko wysycony, jednak bardzo pijalny i sesyjny.

Gekocht @PlanB.

Bottle @ weekly tasting shared with Dutchdrebus. Dark brown color with a slight deep dark red glare coming through when held into the light, small light brown head. Aroma is malts, some roast, coffee quite strongly. Taste malts, some roast again and also some coffee, light pepper, ash, lightly smoke, caramel, the slightest hint of butter in the distance but itís too distant to bother and youíve really got to search for it. Quite good.
