Trust us…the name fits! Deep orange with golden highlights in color, a fluffy head, smoky aromas with hints of bready sweetness, a mild front palate, prominent smoky mid, and a subtle malt finish. Brewed with Gambrinus Pale and Munich, Weyermann Smoked malt, Vanguard hops, and our proprietary English yeast strain.

UPDATED: JUL 10, 2015 Draft. Caramel color, fizzy bubbles. Flavor starts as caramel malts with a bit of faintly orangey hop bitterness, then the smoke rushes forward with dry woody flavors. Sweetness comes in a bit at the finish, in a welcome way. Wonderful.

This was a draft pour at THE LOCAL Beer Bar in Eureka, CA. Came in the glass a murky brownish orange with a medium dingy head and light lacing. Nose is sort of like an old ashtray. Medium in body with pungent mouthfeel. Flavor is lightly fruity and malty. Bittersweet finish with that smoky ending . Redwood Curtain makes some really great beers, but this one seems like some one cleaned out all the tanks,, mixed them all together, and tossed in a half smoked cigar for flavor. Bit on the odd side and not up to the standard of really good rauch brews. But shucks, still drinkable.
