Small can. Murky brown body, medium head. Malty and raisiny aroma. Medium bitter malty taste with dark fruity overtones. A bit sterile. Alcohol becomes apparent in the finish.

Beautiful thick light brown foam on this Brown Ale. Sweet aroma of candies, caramel and malt. The hops penetrates into the background, but I senses also a little nutty aroma. Taste is only slightly tart, then taste the sweet, inter alia, caramel. Carbonation is composed of very fine bubbles that’s soft and smooth and bubbly in your mouth. The finish is long and pleasant, maybe a little bitter but without being disagreeable.

50cl bb03/2016 from Netto DK. Diluted stewed pear, soaked bread, old tangerine candy. A boggy broth confuscating UK mild and brown ale, artificially studded by antioxidants and colorants: Refsvindinge is consistent in delivering poor diluted tastes across a spectrum of UK-to-DK styles, 80’s style.

Bottle. Clear brownish body with a small white head. Malt, metal, caramel. Hmm another bad beer from Refsvindinge.

Bottle. Clear dark red colour with a short beige head. Very thin aroma with only a bit of caramel. Somewhat dry taste with light bitterness and a bit of acid. It does not hide the alcohol well. Light body with lively carbonation and a long and bitter finish. This is the opposite of a tasty, full-bodied and well-hopped brown ale.

33cl can at MS Billefjord between Longyearbyen and Pyramiden. Pours copper coloured with an off-white head. Fairly malty aroma with lots of caramel, hints of dried fruits and roasted malt. Sweet and caramelly and not very complex, but fairly drinkable still. Too sweet for my taste and I don’t understand why they use artificial colour.

Nice but not very special. Looks good, clear with a deep red copper coulor. Flavor is not too sweet, malty some brown sugar and a hint of spices. A bit metallic on the nose. The body it a bit thin. Well brewed but could do with a bit more oompf.

Bottle, 50 cl from Meny, Fredrikshavn (Denmark). Pours a big head. Deep red-brown color. Fresh and malty aroma. Taste is rather disappointing. Roast malt, but not much hops. Little bitterness, and not much aftertaste
