Papsoe’s tasting, courtesy of yespr. Orange pour with a little white head. I thought Dugges Holy Ale was interesting in the aroma until I encountered this beast. Bitter coffee and burnt malts all over the place. Way more than the Dugges. The taste is incredibly ashy with a bit of coffee as well. I almost thought I was smoking cigarettes when I tasted this. Palate is quite watery though and finish is roasty bitter. Can’t really say I found much smoke here, just tons of roasted malts. Certainly interesting though.

Jun 9, 2008 Bottle @ Maria tasting. Orange colour with an off-white head. Aroma is caramel, old cigaretsmoke. Flavour is caramel, old cigaretsmoke, butterscotch, malt. Diffrent beer.

May 25, 2008 Bottle, thx to Maria. Pours a hazy orange body with an off-white head. The aroma is smoked, but in a not too pleasant way, more like when you enter a room in the morning, where there was lots of people smoking the night before. Roasted malt, coffee and some butterscotch as well. Ashtray, really dark coffee and butterscotch in the flavor, both initially and in the finish. Medium body. If you’re a smoker, maybe it’s drinkable, else I would advise you to stay away. Off-course, it’s not undrinkable, but I couldn’t finish it even though the unsmoked flavors were ok. (080412)

Clear medium yellow orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is light malty, caramel, butterscotch, moderate to light heavy, old pub, cigaretsmoke, ashtray, smoke. Flavor is light to moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration. Body is light to medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. ;o( (120408)

Warm golden with a aroma that makes me think of stale cigaret fags and beer leftovers the next morning and it’s "enhanced" with some vegetables notes to keep us healthy! The flavour doesn’t really try to change this impression. I would imagine that if there were such a thing as cigaret caramels, this would be the flavour, and to spice things up a bit, maybe the "deluxe" caramels, they have been dipped in a full ashtray with ashes from cigarettes and cigars. Oh yes, this is truly a very "different" beer....

Apr 15, 2008 Pale yellow of color with a white head. An aroma of old cigaretsmoke, beans, vegtables and sweet notes. A flavor of wet ashtray, sweet notes and wet cigarets. YUCK!!!
