Bottle someone forgot at my place. Pours tiny hazy reddish black brown with a rather big fizzy dark mocha head that leaves a small trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is malty with roasted malts, burnt cereal, liquorice root, pumpernickel bread, lemon zest, hay and soil. Taste is sweet, bitter and malty with roasted malts, burnt cereal, soil, wood, hay, sour dough bread and hints of caramel. Mouthfeel is round, soft, tiny roasted astringent, tiny watery and light to medi bodied. Finish is bitter and malty with dark bread, burnt cereal, hay, wood and soil. Nothing wrong except the label but itís not very impressive either.

Coca Cola Colored with quickly disappearing head. Aroma of sweet caramel malts, a hint of cheap chocolate and slight nutty. taste of sweet malts, cheap chocolate, very very weak roastedness and some weak hops. not terrible at all.

Bottle, 50cl. Pours dark black with a thin, quick disappearing beige-head. Heavy, roasted malt aroma, coffee, chocolate brown sugar and caramel. Flavor is mildly sweet, roasted, brown sugar and light bitter. Found it a bit too thin bodied for my preferences. Bit watery mouth-feel. Soft carbonation, and easy drinkable.

Close to black body with a light-brown head thatís a bit small and short-lived. The aroma is strong, roasted and sweet, with dark chocolate and coffee. In the back there are some too sweet over-ripe fruit-like notes, or is it a touch of butter? The taste is also quite sweet with some bitterness in the finish. The rather strong flavours follow the aromas, but now I think the overly sweet part is mostly due to toffee notes. Finally I get some sweet liquorice. The texture is rather dry, despite the relative high sweetness. Or maybe Iím just a bit confused by the chalky, yeasty metallicity that lurks in the background? Medium body, soft carbonation. Ok-ish.
[33 cl bottle, enjoyed 1 month before BB date, from Kastanielys, Sj. Odde, Denmark]

UPDATED: AUG 11, 2013 I have tasted this beer from a bottle and from a can. The bottle is preferred, because of the after fermentation. It gives the beer a better head, than if it came from a can. This stout have a very dark color and a rich taste of coffee.
