1.6 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 4/20
Bottle. Smells like every awful pale lager that I have evr drank. Very, very dusty and adjunct laden. Taste-almost non-existant. Cherry, skunk, water, adjuncts. Kevin is right-this tastes like lake water. A complete and total waste of ingredients, resources, and brewing equipment. Donít the people of El Salvador have enough problems without having to drink this swill?

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
The beer after its release from the 12-ounce brown bottle sets in the glass a crystalline gold with a magnificent white creamy crown, the residual lace forms a tight seal upon the glass. Nose is the standard fresh and crisp sweet malt, with the start being a bit sweet and the grain profile adequate, top is light to moderate in feel. Finish is pleasantly acidic and the hops delectable in their spiciness, dry aftertaste, a nice drinking beer.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
UPDATED: FEB 3, 2006 NOt bad, either, but it has a flavor in the bottom of the bottle that is a little weird. It is long fermented, but it is strange.

0.8 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 2/20
Got this because of the unique bottle shape and the fact that Iíve never had a beer from El Salvador. Well, if theyíre like this then I never will AGAIN! Poor, sickly appearance -- a very weak pee color and a large head that disappears almost immediately (many drainpours seem to share the latter characteristic). Brown bottle, nevertheless manages to hold a great deal of skunk (though not overwhelming) in the flavor and the aroma. Essentially, flavor and aroma differ little from each other: some skunk, some cheap malt, some cheap tobacco papers. Finished a little more than 1/2 and had to throw the rest out.

Compared to the Arriba this was almost OK. Light alcohol flavour. No hops. Clean and plain.

1.4 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 7/20
A cheap beer that will do if you do not have any other choice. There is no taste at all so at least you quench your thirst on a hot sunny day.

1.1 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20
Despite appearances, this is not a beer for drinking on a warm day. This is a beer for washing your car with. The aroma is redolent of urea and warm skunk. The palate is bitter with no redeeming qualities of flavor. The bottle may look cool, but I recommend passing on this one and just buying a Colt 45 or an OE if youíre looking for volume.

Well it looks crystal clear with a big head and I imagine itíd be plenty refreshing on a steaming hot day. Overall, Iím glad this was a freebie and I didnít spend $ on it. One & done. I wonít be drinking this one again.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Big industrial janitorial strength cleaner looking bottle - at least itís brown! The pour is translucent with a thin, soapy white head. Aroma is not skunky, not much there at all, a faint trace of wet paper bagness. Flavor is pretty much nonexistent as well, goes down very smooth on this hot October day working in the yard actually - for that I am grateful. Finish is just a bit metallic, but overall, a notch above the other offerings from this South American behemoth.
