Actually the better (canít say best for any of ILCís products) beer La Constancia makes, yet they market it as the cheapest, go figure. Some hop flavor and aroma that helps disguise the corn.

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
from a bottle at a mexican / el salvadorian restaurant. Not expecting to much from this type of beer, but it is not horrible. No offensive aromas or flavors, just a bland watery lager, and although blandness is uninteresting, it was good to wash down my food with and was not a disappointment. Beats the hell out of modelo, dos xx green label, and some other south american beers. Not a bad choice if youíre out eating.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Not bad for a world common lager. The brewery rep on the La Constancia tour told us the other night that while this is their budget beer, it is also the product with the largest percentage of malt and hops in it. She also said the brewery uses cane sugar as an adjunct as itís a local product.
This poured with a large, foamy, frothy, fluffy, sudsy, white head that lasts a while, good lace, and lots of small bubble trails. Color is a clear pale yellow with lots of bubble trails. Aroma is fresh beer, some malt and hop. Flavor is like aroma but sweetness comes out more, but is thankfully tempered by some hop. Had this can after it warmed a tad and the body got watery; carbonation is ok. Finish is like flavor with a slight metalic sweetness standing out. Nonetheless, itís one of the better beers of its class. Iíll have more.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
One of the largest single-user bottles of beer I have ever seen in my life, at El Paraiso in DC. Very pale yellow, medium white head. Aroma of white pepper. Taste is very light, easy to drink, and plain. Unexciting, but I could see how this would be very drinkable on a hot and humid day.

Bottle. Pours light gold with a white head. Sweetish malty aroma with some light grainy notes. Similar flavor. Not completely off, but still pretty gross.

1.2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 3/20
Pours a very light yellow with a large foamy white head. Aroma of sweet malts. Flavor is very light with only sweet malts and water. Pretty much water beer. The only thing going for it is that it is quite refreshing. I could see this beer being a very good session beer.

1.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
Bottle from Kegs & Barrels in Plano, TX. Pours a light straw yellow with fizzy white head. Not much aroma here, very faint hop floral, thatís all I get. Flavor of stale malt, cardboard, faint corn, faint grain, very faint, light hop citrus to balance this out. Mouth feel is light body, watery and high carbonation. Overall, a basic run of the mill, neutral flavored pale lager.
