Regia Extra is produced in El Salvador since 1959. It is an exquisite beer of intense flavor, brewed carefully with a long process of maturation for the delight of our consumers.

This beer isnít nearly as bad as many of the malt liquors itís grouped with. Sure, itís light and pretty bland but for the price and volume its an amazing deal. Iím pretty particular about beer like most on ratebeer and I admit that Regia Extra isnít a world class beer, but taking everything into consideration my overall score for this beer is pretty high. If you find it available and are looking for volume at that particular time it is definitely worth a try.

TPSA. Pours pale gold with very little head. Not much nose to it at all -- what there was was very light roast and adjunct. Tastes sweet with a little hops bitterness; itís not bad, itís just not any different from dozens of others LULs. (Local Ubiquitous Lager). If you were hot and it was very cold, it would work.

Bottle @ home. Light straw yellow appearance with a small white head. Sweet pale malty lager, somewhat grainy nose. Smooth, light grainy, bland pale malty flavor. Pretty bland, flavorless beer but easy drinking.

Itís pretty clear, doesnít really smell like anything too much. Itís not offensive, so thatís something. Mostly rice and sweet cover up, with alcohol in there to hit that part of the flavour.

Bottle Found this in a large bottle ($2.99 for 32 oz) at the local Latin American-influenced Sunoco station close to my home. Pours nice gold, with hefty head. Smell and lacing reminds me of "old school" Schlitz or something my parents drank in 70ís. Decent malt flavor. Honestly nothing bad about this beer. I will get it again. Great drinker for football Sundays. Balanced carbonation. A pleasant surprise!

Actually the better (canít say best for any of ILCís products) beer La Constancia makes, yet they market it as the cheapest, go figure. Some hop flavor and aroma that helps disguise the corn.

from a bottle at a mexican / el salvadorian restaurant. Not expecting to much from this type of beer, but it is not horrible. No offensive aromas or flavors, just a bland watery lager, and although blandness is uninteresting, it was good to wash down my food with and was not a disappointment. Beats the hell out of modelo, dos xx green label, and some other south american beers. Not a bad choice if youíre out eating.

Not bad for a world common lager. The brewery rep on the La Constancia tour told us the other night that while this is their budget beer, it is also the product with the largest percentage of malt and hops in it. She also said the brewery uses cane sugar as an adjunct as itís a local product. This poured with a large, foamy, frothy, fluffy, sudsy, white head that lasts a while, good lace, and lots of small bubble trails. Color is a clear pale yellow with lots of bubble trails. Aroma is fresh beer, some malt and hop. Flavor is like aroma but sweetness comes out more, but is thankfully tempered by some hop. Had this can after it warmed a tad and the body got watery; carbonation is ok. Finish is like flavor with a slight metalic sweetness standing out. Nonetheless, itís one of the better beers of its class. Iíll have more.

One of the largest single-user bottles of beer I have ever seen in my life, at El Paraiso in DC. Very pale yellow, medium white head. Aroma of white pepper. Taste is very light, easy to drink, and plain. Unexciting, but I could see how this would be very drinkable on a hot and humid day.
