The Reh Zwick’l is a decent Kellerbier type beer. It’s unfiltered character is evident in its musky first taste and it fine herb aftertaste that again has something dark and murky. Kellerbier as it should be.

Recht helles Zwickel, schöne Trübe, ordentliche Feinperlung. In der Nase maischig-malzig, setzt sich im Trunk fort und wird dann bitter mit etwas Restsüße. Mir insgesamt zu unausgewogen und zu krachig.

Unclear, yellow-golden colored, medium+ white frothy head, long lasting. Aroma is malty, grainy, some bread and sulphur, strawy-grassy hops. Taste is low+ sweet malt, grains and bread, some herbal strawy hops with medium bitterness, dryish finish and bitter hayish aftertaste. Medium to light bodied, average carbonation.

MHD/Best before: 26.04.2016 - Bottle bought at Landbierparadies, Nuremberg. The long durability (5 Months) indicates that it’s not a genuine Kellerbeer (bottled!). By pouring it in a glass you can create much foam with pores of different sizes. By swinging the glass you can recreate some foam. It smells of malt and hops, minimally fruity as you would expect from a (good) franconian Kellerbeer. The taste is slightly sweet in front and has a nice hopsy bitterness in the back. More hopsy than the average franconian Kellerbeer. It’s a fullbodied beer with average carbonation that stays in your mouth for some time. Enough to drink it slowly without losing the taste. Conclusion: The perfect franconian Kellerbeer at home.

Bottle bought @ Landbierparadies. Pours hazy deep yellow with a big frothy offwhite head that slowly dissipates while leaving some sparse trace on the grass. Smell is slightly malty and floral with wholegrain crackers, rustic bread, hay, dried flowers, minerals and lemon peal. Taste is tiny sweet, bitter, slightly malty and floral. Mouthfeel is slightly dry, soft, round and medium bodied. Finish is tiny sweet and bitter with wholegrain crackers, white sourdough bread, pale honey, hay, minerals and lemon peal. Highly drinkable lager with magical rustic bread malt base and honey floral hops.

Bottle from a bottle shop in Germany (I forgot which one). Fruity and hoppy smell. Fairly light taste of pale bread, grass, hops. Clean. Refreshing. Easy to drink. Loved it.

50CL bottle pours a light yellow/gold color with an off white head. The smell is toasted malt, grain. mild caramel, crisp hops. The taste is grain, toasted malt, dull caramel, a touch of lemon and ending dry with a nice crispness. Light in body with nice bright carbonation. An easy drinking beer.
