Bottled. Deep golden colour, mediumsized creamy head. Aroma is bread, some grains, a bit sweet malts, herbs and some grassy and wooden notes. Flavour is herbal, grassy, some sweet bready malts with mild earthy and also toasted notes. Very refreshing brew.

UPDATED: MAY 23, 2014 Draught at Brauerei Gasthof Reichold in May 2013 and from fresh bottles over the years: Burnished golden. Quick, broken white foam. Very delicate but clean aromas of breadcrust, wood-root-spice hops, earth- and pecan-tinged malt, and candyish yeast. Tight carbonation. Well-bodied. Opens with a medley of spicy hops and succulent nectar. Faint breadcrust sharpness beautifully offsets the more pillowy and intricate malt aspects. Just enough minerals to coarsen the slippery body. Cleanly extracted honey-soaked malt drips with juices and a vibrant albeit understated richness. Finishes with Spalter-derived lemon candy suggestions and dabs of sweet nectar and refined hay dust textures. A fairly simple and uncomplicated Franconian lagerbier, but what it lacks in character it makes up for it with nice balance and cleanness. Fun little quaffer.

Goldgelbes Lager mit feinporigem Schaum. Blumig malziges Aroma. Im Geschmack malzig-süß, verhaltene Würze. Hopfen ist so gut wie nicht vorhanden. Langweiliges und fades Lager.

bottle. light amber body with a small white head. faint aroma of crunchy cereals, toast, dry mix dog food, browned apple esters and minor hints of nut oils. minerality is nice but the starchiness is not; frothy carbonation and medium acid wash the tongue. finish of mild almond and cooked corn kernels with some light sulfur and burnt caramel showing through in the finish. overall a pretty simple and basic beer without much intrigue.

Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly lasting. Body is light yellow. Aroma is moderately malty (toasted bread, pastry), lightly to moderately hoppy (herbs, flowers), with a hint of egg. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery/velvety texture, lively carbonation. Straightforward but very nicely done...clean, toasty, pastry-ish, bright hops, excellent balance, nice texture. Good stuff.

Thank you Norbert Dubowy, for bringing this back from your most recent trip to Germany. Clear medium amber with a large bubbled persistent head and tiny dots of lace. Taste is mild caramel malt that moves politely through the palate to a slightly bitter finish. Beyond that, the malt returns. This is a simple, but interesting drink, possibly created as a good mild sessionable lager. Not big at all, but quite reasonable
